In defense of intellect plate {WoW}

Feb 6th 2012 3:19PM That is also done in SWTOR for orange (mod able) gear. Bliz should see that everyone borrows from them, so it's their turn now.

In defense of intellect plate {WoW}

Feb 6th 2012 1:05PM It may have been stated already, but TOR did it right in this regard:

In that game, gear generally has 2 primary stats, Endurance and then a Class stat, so let's use Aim.

Tank, Healer and DPS Aim users all benefit from that stat. It seems to take Specializtion and Talents into consideration for the end result. Maybe Bizzard should look into that.

Now, I've only played TOR for a little while and don't know the full stat system, but it seems to be working.

Breakfast Topic: Do your WoW and real-life friendships overlap? {WoW}

Jan 27th 2012 9:06AM I've played MMO's (wow & others) with RL friends since EQ1 back in 2001. In all that time, I've only met two people that I consider real friends now, away from the games. Both are long distance, so I rarely get to interact outside of online communication, but I'm happy to know them.

Dec 25th 2011 8:20AM The Michael Buble version = never over-used.

The Queue: I will not {WoW}

Dec 3rd 2011 5:20PM Indeed. I fully understand why they don't upgrade. It's just after playing a month of Skyrim (ultra on PC settings) , I have such a horrible time looking at WoW. Bethesda has jaded me into a graphics snob. I fully admit it. Guilty.

Dec 3rd 2011 4:58PM My question -

When will WoW update to Skyrim level of graphics?

Breakfast Topic: What was your most memorable noob moment? {WoW}

Dec 2nd 2011 9:23AM My first main was a Belf hunter. We know where this is going. Anyway, I soloed most of the time, didn't read about stats or how to play, I just wanted to do what seemed cool. I loved running around in BC days with 2 of the swords that look like katanas and I put Fiery on them. To keep from buying ammo, I almost never used ranged. Trade chat even called me a "LOL Melee Hunter". After that I went Druid and never looked back.

Drama Mamas: Love and marriage and WoW {WoW}

Nov 28th 2011 4:46PM I feel that the husband has very common short-sightedness that people get when they focus their attention too much on one thing- his being WoW raid progression. At first, his goal to keep his wife happy was simply to let her play with him, so he got her an account. In his mind, the issue was fixed.

Fast-foreward and she wants to actually join him to really play together. As a former player and raid tank (rawr - bear) I know that you can't just jump in, especially to a hardcore team. He realized this and went with the "Alt Bandaid" routine. The big problem that should have been apparent right away is that people's hearts and desire to play are never on Alts. If he 'wastes' too much time on that toon, his main will fall behind. It's terrible to think that way, but I remember the feeling - you have to keep your Raider Main in top condition. Even your Alts have to work for your main through professions.

To end: He never really planned to play with her, he just wanted to play the same game as her so they could talk about it, share certain things about the game, and in his head, he was spending time with her. In reality, the progress of his main and keeping his raid spot / bragging rights is more important than his real life relationship. It will not change unless he truly realizes this and turns a 180.

Hey OP, call me if it doesn't work out :)

I KID!!!

Breakfast Topic: What was your turning point in WoW? {WoW}

Nov 27th 2011 11:37AM I learned the basics in mid-BC (yes, as a BM Hunter, so I was a true Huntard.) I played with 5 or 6 real life friends who went from MMO to MMO.

They all left before Wrath, but I stuck it out. Eventually, as my friends came and went a couple times, I joined a raid guild around 3.3 so I could see what raiding was like. At this point, my main was a boomkin who would later switch to bear, where he stayed.

I met a lot of great people, including a friend (tree druid) that I'll never forget. I hope she remembers to think of her bear from time to time.

Although I no longer play, the memories are the important part.

Is it time to kill the global cooldown? {WoW}

Nov 15th 2011 6:01PM I have been playing Skyrim the last few days. The battle components and mechanics in that came are executed very well, with no auto attack or GCD. Instead, it's tied to your stamina. Maybe that system wouldn't work in a game like WoW, but Bethesda has it down.

Time to go melt my PC's video card some more in the frozen reaches.
