Apr 7th 2011 9:10PM Are these conquest points in addition to the current weekly cap based on personal rating, or can they be purchased in addition to them? This will being annoying to no end if PVPers have to raid just to gear as quickly as the hardcore players at the start of the next arena season. We will see people in full sets way before anyone else.
I do like the fact that honor points can be used to buy justice gear. Maybe ill actually finish gearing my tank for heroics now.
Mar 15th 2011 11:07PM It is honestly about time they made Ice Barrier useful again. It use to be about 9k when we had 30k health. Right now its like 14k and we have 120k health. It did not scale well at all. It was almost not worth casting and you were better off saving yourself by freezing your enemy. Like honestly the way is it right now mana sheild does almost as much damage. Probably the same amount if you dont glyph Ice Barrier.
PWS does 30k health and has a 15s cooldown while Ice Barrier is 14k with a 24s cooldown. It just did not make sense that what was supposed to be a strong shield stops less than one attack.
Mar 3rd 2011 11:35PM I see what u did there blizz....
your waiting until our anticipation builds to show the mage love
Mar 1st 2011 8:25PM All I can say is its about time frost mages werent the only onces in the 2 points of base mastery boat.
Feb 28th 2011 6:46PM He was probably frost with On a Pale Horse. Gives you 20% speed boost. That plus a 310% mount could easily outrun you.
Feb 22nd 2011 7:57PM I like to use the mouse entirely for moving (eg moving forward, strafing and turning) and the mmb is for my ranged silence.
This leaves me
and the shift versions of all of them for spells and moves. all 24 are extremely easy to use since I am not holding down atleast once of them and awkwardly trying to press another. It more like typing. I dont have any keybinds at all that are hard to hit, the hardest being shift+z
Jan 16th 2011 2:23AM I feel like frost is in roughly the same place. Granted we have to actually cast two frost bolts and an ice lance for our deep freeze burst in pvp.
The whole deal with loosing some control, while we are loosing control in theory, we are also gaining the ability to have any sort of control against feral druids. That is a huge change for frost pvp.
Can we say hello fire? For all the frost mages worried about pvp after this patch all that I have to say is try to pvp fire just once. You get to destroy people with dots AND run circles around them while casting scorch and moving faster due to blazing speed. I dare every mage out there to play a single tol barad as a fire mage. If you get a hot streak and refresh your living bomb, then pop combustion then impact, during one of the large battles near the end where defense is sitting with 40 players at one flag, you can easily put your dots on 10+ players. Then just sit back while your screen explodes with numbers for 10 seconds and you get to watch your dps spike into the hundred thousands in pvp mind you. I feel like if 5 mages got together and all did that attacking could always win.
Anyway the mana cost reduction and the huge buff to mastery are going to change the game and we will probably see a lot more fire mages in pvp. Not to mention having cauterize takes away that whole fear of being at low health that us mages are so used to. Most frost mages feel like they are already dead if their shields are down. As fire you get to let them think they killed you and then you just come back and destroy them.
Just food for thought
Nov 23rd 2010 3:29PM The arcane blast buff change actually increases damage. That on top of the 10% more means arcane mages are going to do some very high dps now. They also tried to make arcane mages actually use a different move now by making everything else slightly better. Even though arcane blast will still be all everyone uses. Who know it might be more useful in pvp now, the decreased cast time means keeping the stacks up will be very easy.
Frost seemed to have been nerfed in some ways but better in others
