May 7th 2011 1:42PM While I won't ever list it on my resume, I will be bringing this sort of thing up at my next employee review. My company has recently changed the way we are rated in reviews and we are now judged on the contributions we make to our community. What we do around town, so to speak, will have a direct impact on our rating - the higher you rate, the better chance you have at getting a raise. Between two jobs, a slightly active social life, family obligations and of course WoW, I don't have time to go out and be a Girl Guide leader, or coach little league or be a Big Sister. Nor do I think it's fair that I'll fail a section of my review because of that. So I decided that instead of listing things I do in my physical community, I'll just list the things I do in my online community. My online community being WoW!
I'm not sure how I'm going to word it yet. "Organizing weekend dungeon runs for newbie guild members" probably won't cut it but I've got a month before my next review to figure it out.
May 6th 2011 11:20PM I've been thoroughly enjoying these workshops! Wish I could make it to the one tomorrow but apparently family functions take priority over these things. Who knew!:)
May 2nd 2011 6:09AM I rolled a Worgen at some point, just so I could play through the start zone and see what it was like. Other than that, I haven't done much with them. Certainly never intended to use them for RP purposes. But after reading this, it's changed my mind. I think I can use this as a great starting point for developing a back story for a character. Thank you for that!
Can't wait to read more articles from this series.
Apr 10th 2011 8:39AM Unfortunately Cata turned WoW into a single player game for me. Most of my in-game friends that I played and/or chatted with while playing burned through the content and seem to only log on for dailies. As a result I now have a ton of alts that I rolled to play on other servers with other friends, and in some cases just to see what it was like to play a different class or faction, and check out other professions. Though I miss the social aspect of the game I enjoyed pre-Cata, I've made a few new in-game friends and really surprised myself with how fun it is to level up all these different alts I have now. I'm truly enjoying seeing all the changes that have happened to Azeroth, and checking out all the new quests etc. first hand. Before Cata rolled out, I had my main that I played regularly and two alts I played when bored. I never thought I'd have a soccer team sized roster of alts I not only logged on to regularly, but also made the effort to level them past 20.
Mar 18th 2011 4:56PM Pick me, coach!
Mar 6th 2011 9:36AM I enjoyed the Goblin starting zone much more than the Worgen one. It was so fun! And the initial quest line with the car etc. made me laugh. Unfortunately, 99% of my friends play Alliance so once I got out of the starting zone I never touched my Goblin hunter again. The Worgen zone was okay but ended so abruptly! Suddenly I was in Night Elf Land and....that was it. It was disappointing. I still managed to level my Worgen higher than my Goblin, though. But the sniffling drives me nuts so I have not played my Worgen since earlier January and am not really inclined to do so again anytime soon.
Feb 22nd 2011 5:23PM I got my Love Fool title, so I was happy! And for the most part it was fun trying to tick everything off the list of things to do. I think I might have scared a little level 2 Undead Warrior I had to fly all the way to Deathknell to find. I kind of swooped down off the roof at him so I could pelt him with petals. He stopped killing the zombie thing he was after and just kind of stood there. I was polite, though, and waved before I flew off! Couldn't have gotten the last few things done done any of it with the help of a few friends. I don't enjoy PvP, so a friend/fellow Guildie came with me to get the Arathi Basin part of the Achievement and stuck around to run random Cata dungeons with me until I finally got my red bouquet. It was awesome:)
Feb 18th 2011 10:58PM Woo! This is on my server. Time to dust off my Horde characters so I can check this out.
Feb 14th 2011 5:22PM This is the cutest thing I've read/seen all day. So glad you got the chance to make the heart!
Jan 3rd 2011 8:19AM Awesome!
