I suspect it is a combination of three evolutionary factors
1) tail for ballast
2) head's musco-skeletal structure is very minimal and lightweight despite overall size
3) crazy sh!t happens in eq2
hope that helps :D
Jun 21st 2011 3:11PM Who and where are all these people desperately crying out for raids? I'm not following this game *super* closely so maybe there are some forums or some other fan community base that i'm out of touch with, but from my perspective (and apparently not just myself) the last thing new mmo's need is more raids.
The primary reason i quit wow and am intentionally level-locked in eq2 is my complete disinterest in the one-dimensional raiding endgame.
Baffling stuff :)

But you can have your cake and eat it too! EQ2 has a really well designed housing / personalization system along with all the usual mmo adventury stuff.
Heck my gf and I spent 2 hours yesterday just cruising Qeynos checking out houses people have intentionally dedicated serious time to decorating and then posting tours on the msg boards :D
Jun 9th 2011 7:17PM oh man I still remember the first evil eyes I saw the *first* everquest, haha! I was so pumped to see 'em back in eq2 years later
Jun 7th 2011 4:51PM Still a super fun game! Bring on your 45 day'er returning vets and 14 day trial players, couple of days in norrath and they will sub right up :)

"This can have other uses, too. Imagine bringing every leveling player together; would make for a quite more lively leveling experience, with a lot more players around. It could also resurrect low level PvP by keeping max level players apart from leveling ones; no more players bringing their main into the fray just because they lost in a PvP match, no more high level players hunting lowbies at their leisure."
I *am* imagining it, and it is beautiful haha. Dreammmsss
Jun 4th 2011 6:34PM EQ2! As someone who completely forgot about the game until I saw the 45-day returning vet email from SOE, my accidental love has been rekindled :D
Jun 1st 2011 10:16PM 'Making it difficult to get excited about' seems like one of SOE's primary talents. And this is from a recently returned vet who played enthusiastically from '06-'08 =\
May 31st 2011 12:00AM I just recently came back to eq2 after a 3 1/2 year separation, and I was borderline overwhelmed by all the content. Mostly in a good way- I certainly don't see it as a flaw, but it is kind of a downer when you are a guildless refugee and there's all this interesting content only accessible in groups
Nov 30th 2010 12:39PM excellent post! I have never read your blog before but I hopped the link from klepsacovic's site and I am pleasantly surprised. I feel like you put some serious thought and analysis into this instead of just arbitrary copy+paste and guesswork, and alot of the minor psychological points were very spot on. really bums me out to hear about the percentages, I had no idea trolls were such a minority. I've always thought they made the best male hunters and female any caster, for a variety of graphic/animation reasons!
