Aug 5th 2011 8:39AM As the leader of a casual guild we have tried everything at one time or another. We have monthly events that are open to the public, we go out and help random people with quests or bosses they can't do to make contact. We invite them to groups, help them with everything from pvp to relationship advice, and since Cata we even hit the trade channel ( though only once an hour, we don't spam it). We even have a sponsorship or apprentice program to pair low level members with experienced players. Due to all of this we remain a solid guild, but you have to work to find the right people as a casual guild.
Jul 24th 2011 7:53AM My guild doesn't have a problem with ganking per se, but we despise campers. If someone is camping one of our people we will make a fun guild event out of hunting and camping the camper.
Dec 5th 2010 8:19AM I have been a guild officer and later I started my own guild which I have ran for a long time. In fact yesterday my guild, The Stone Council of Alterac Mountains, just celebrated our third year of running. Such is not for everyone. Some people love being officers and others hate it. More are in love with the idea of being an officer or guild leader than handling the responsibilities. If you do like this kind of thing though it can be very rewarding.
