Dec 16th 2011 3:49PM As much as I hate paladins... shiny!
Oct 27th 2011 9:13AM This means Tirion would undoubtedly bite it within the movie's first 35 minutes. Of this I approve.
Oct 25th 2011 9:03AM I'm in the same position as you, Revnah, and it has me thinking. Is the quality of writing on blogs better than that in the novels, or, do we as readers expect more of novels because of the medium? I find myself unforgiving of certain errors that are propagated by informal style, notably "there's" for "there are" (rather pedantic, I know). This certainly is not limited to or primarily directed at WoW Insider, and is perhaps even forgivable; the "there's" example has become so widespread in speech that to abandon it in conversational style could, if corrected inconsistently, be quite awkward. I think there is a larger question of informal writing's effect on the printed word, and, as it seems we move further away from that ideal, how the printed word as an ideal adapts, or does not, to a very different readership.
Oct 9th 2011 9:44AM My wife is a fanatically devoted kitty, and when I convinced her to try a warrior, she went arms. She liked it, but it very much was a "oh, this is like easy feral dps" sort of thing. Then they made Mortal Strike refresh Rend and it was even more so. She found it fun, but in a "it's a break from her real 'challenging' class" kind of way.
I'm leveling a feral druid now, and to be honest, it's made me less interested in other dps specs, just because it's so fun. Arms is a blast to play, it really is, but as for complexity, you might get a little bored after feral dps. Of course, you could try a shaman, I hear they're OP as hell *ducks a Stormstrike*.
Sep 23rd 2011 9:26AM Honor Hold Defender, for me. It'll be Bold Armor, head to toe, the level 60 pvp shield, and the Northshire Battlemace until I find something better. I'm very open to suggestions for a mace, or sword, really. I'll finish it with an Honor Hold tabard. Helm will have to be turned off; since 4.1 the bold helm has should up as the black recolour of it.
I'm also thinking of a more practical look based on the Overlord armors, the Stromgarde shield, I'd just have to get a Stromgarde-ish tabard, I'm still rather far from exalted with Arathi Basin *sigh*.
Sep 23rd 2011 9:15AM Tier 8 should do the trick, it's refined, yet still awesome. If you want bonus points, get the recoloured off-set from Uld 25 HM, it's dark blue and silvery-gold. Very sharp, and would look great with a Gilneas Tabard.
Sep 22nd 2011 11:25AM Maloriak, on adds. Being a warrior doesn't get better than that. Missed an aberration interrupt? No problem, I've got Shockwave. 15 out at once? Intimidating Shout takes care of them. When spec'd for Piercing Howl it was even better, I pretty much just ran around in circles the whole fight. I mean, that's pretty much what I do anyway, but that I'm *suposed* to do it, I'm rewarded for it!? Yeah, Maloriak wins best fight ever.
Sep 21st 2011 9:15AM Like many of you, this opportunity presented itself through a guild problem. Nearing the end of t11 progression, our guild split up. Our RL and best hunter hopped servers and factions, and I was offered a tanking spot in his 25 man. It would be a real guild! Where people watched the fights beforehand!
The only problem was I'd have to be Horde. I don't RP, but my character has a definite backstory. Turning on the Alliance would mean leaving Stromgarde in ruins, it would be turning my back on Danath, it would mean becoming the enemy. While I could go into how I think the Horde is the evil faction (comparatively, and I recognize the nuance and the Forsaken's plight; it doesn't excuse their actions), it would be leaving Strom, leaving the Alliance's last hero sitting in Outland, and leaving my character's story unfinished.
Unfinished it remains though. With no guild and no real interest, I swapped servers to a larger realm, lost interest in the game and raiding, and have unsubbed. Swapping factions proved to be more difficult than just not playing. I'll come back for Stromgarde.
Aug 18th 2011 5:49AM I can definitely agree. I've been quite bored of WoW, and playing LotRO on my warden. The warden model is really brilliant in its design, if you stand there, you're rather squishy, but if you use your gambits (combinations of skills) properly, you're nearly impossible to kill.
I'd just decided I wasn't coming back to WoW because of how much more I liked the active mitigation model, and Blizz releases this the day I made my decision. They're toying with me. Next they'll promise a Rise of Strom patch, just when I get bored.
Jul 21st 2011 11:28AM Just responding to part of this. I've endured the pain of trying to convince hunters ferals have first dibs to melee weapons before. The process comes in about 1/2 between getting a colonoscopy from Edward Scissorhands, and watching Holisky's video. It's your call which is worse.
