Mar 15th 2011 9:02AM I, too, will admit that I am an Affliction lock as well. I have tried several times over the past two years to play the other specs only to go screaming back to Affliction. I play through the random nerfs and just keep on plowing on.
As to drain life vs shadowbolt, I SB spam with the occasional drain life. I use drain life more as a "OMG, I'm about to die!" in raids with the boost from soulburn that afflocks don't really need. I have tested a few times in raiding and in heroics the two and find that my SB spam works better for the most part.
So far, in cata, destro's are doing better than me on single target fights which I found so baffling considering i could usually out dps better geared destro's in wrath with no real issue. I find an interesting view of the dps difference comes from the 25 man BH i run each week. Usually the destro's are outdps'ing me by far and I come in 5-7 on the dps charts. However, in my raid group, i'm finally the top 3. I found adding just one more epic piece really helped. I felt the difference immediately.
I forget where i was going with this (it's early!), but thank you for writing a great warlock article and YAY for the possibility of actually having a warlock column worth reading! I've been feeling rather pissy towards this website about it for months now.
Mar 15th 2011 8:52AM My original character was a night elf druid..cause i thought they looked cool. I got her to lvl 17 before I gave up as i despised dying repeatedly and hated her spellcasting. My next character I made was a Human warlock, which I still play to this day as my main. She's now a blood elf and still loving this character. I think part of it has to do with I actually spent a lot of time on this one lvl'ing as the LFD did not exist and I had to quest her all the way up barely setting foot into dungeons until the system came out. By that point, she was already lvl 80.
I also had a shammy that sat stagnant at lvl 34 for almost a year before i finally lvl'd her up the rest of the way and she's my main alt. LFD system helped me get past the icky 30's.
Feb 15th 2011 9:45AM I have to agree with you Galaharenn. These posts, while helpful to an extent, are not that relevant for most of us out there or could be easily found elsewhere.
For my shaman, i could easily go to one of the posts and see..Hey this is my caps i need, this is a rotation that might work, oh this is a tweak I could do. OH that's what they did to my healing!
For the warlock...not so much. I think there are plenty of warlocks out there that would probably be more than happy to write something up for this site..not sure why this is such a difficult thing. There have been MAJOR changes to our class and not one peep from this site about it.

Dec 7th 2010 3:08AM You would have thought they would have thought of this ahead of time...can't log in after it prompted me to log out. Knew it was going to happen.
