noone said it had to be particularly diseases, the whole point being the target is afflicted with something,
and the point about necromancers and warlocks being entirely different can be argued seeing as affliction gets the spell soul swap which is infact death magic, sucking ones soul and placing it somewhere else, aka orc deathknights.
also there is a talent that improves upon unstable affliction, named Pandemic, which gives a nod to it being a disease not just being a curse/bane/etc. as you put it. sometimes it isn't all about class mechanics and the spell being classified as magic rather than disease, could be simply a case of magic is universally dispellable and diseases were originally not.
You seem to be focused on classifying things from an RPG standpoint as a whole(necromancer vs warlock), I'm simply talking about from warcraft and wow gameplay/lore.

he was the main person in charge of producing and spreading the undead plague throughout lordaeron
well clearly I am talking about wow standards and there IS no necromancer class, death and diseases not being warlocks? affliction is ALL about diseases and curses, hell the t9 warlock gear was NAMED after kelthuzad...http://www.wowhead.com/itemset=846
Sep 15th 2011 11:20AM My thinking for guldan being demo was, he was WORKING for demons afterall, and demo plays both shadow and fire spells which is pretty much what guldan did, planet destroying spells as well as necromancy(first death knights)
Sep 15th 2011 11:08AM My question for the que, kinda an opinion based question
in terms of warlock specs, when I think demonology gul'dan comes to mind, with affliction kel thuzad, what character from lore would represent destruction?
Jul 17th 2011 1:14PM I always thought it was worf! now I know, thanks queue! Also, I honestly believe that noted decline is because they always use that same female voice actor for the dragons, and she is god awfull and sounds like she smokes 20 packs of cigs a day.
Jun 19th 2011 10:37PM Vyrkul weren't always flesh, hence iron vrykul in HoL and HoS, just like the dwarves they were originally metal.
Jun 9th 2011 9:22PM I agree with this whole heartedly, it is unfair to say the game should be allowed to stand on it's own and that EA is "weaseling" around, EA will definitely give a release date a decent time ahead of the release.
There's no real benefit for players to learn about the release this early, a point at which blizzard can plan a major content patch release, or tirion can set up an xpac.
Mar 27th 2011 10:13PM The story changes an incredible amount, especially in this case because richard knaak has a tendency to retcon and warp the story.
