Nov 6th 2011 5:10AM I completely agree that there should be alternate content for nonraiders and nonpvpers at max level. I feel this is one area Blizzard has constantly failed. I think part of it is for the most part all progression is gear based which ultimately funnels us into either raiding or pvp. Azeroth is a massive world but we are mostly huddled in cities either waiting for a raid group or waiting for our dungeon or arena queues. While I am very happy with the current raid content I am ultimately unsatisfied with end game content. I pretty much log in to lead my raids, do transmutes and post auctions. There is just not much else to do that really is all the engaging. Sure there are achievements which are a fun distraction but they offer no real progression. I think pet battles is a great idea as it gives us something to do within Azeroth with progression but it is 't gear based. I'd love to see more of this type of stuff, minigolf at gallywix, boat races in 1000 needles, things spread around Azeroth to get us out of the damn cities and doing things.
Nov 5th 2011 4:50PM I disagree with all of you saying that Cat is too difficult. I think thy have finally stuck the perfect level of difficulty and complexity to make some truly entertaining battles. They nerd the content to help people along and they are adding a new lower difficulty level for players that lack the ability or time to join a coordinated raid group.
I started a new raid guild at the start of Cat and had no core raid group. I built my group up and had to bring pugs to fill us up for a long time but with determination and constant requirement we are now 6/7 HM in Firelands. It's not easy and that is what makes it fun and rewarding. The actual raiders that play to raid would grow bored quick if they nerfed encounters across the board and I'm not just talking about heroic progression guilds but normal progression guilds as well. I you are 1/7 FL and think that normal mode should be catered to you, no offense but you lack the ability to raid proper. But with he new LFR they are increasing accessibility so that everyone gets a chance to see the encounters. Enjoy the new difficulty level and stop trying to be a wet blanket for the raiders that are enjoying the new encounter difficulty level.
Jun 3rd 2011 1:28PM I would rather be beat for not making my gold farming quota than beat for not making my rock smashing quota. The real problem here isn't gold farming but China and their horrible human rights. If I was in prison I would rather farm gold than smash rocks, but these people are being forced to do both resulting in ridiculously long grueling days. I do not in any way support gold buying and selling of any kind, but if these prisoners were treated decently and not having their human rights violated there wouldn't be as big of an issue.
May 27th 2011 9:53PM Wow I don't understand cheapskate guilds. The leaders must be stealing gold. My guild pays for repairs, food, flasks and even enchants for our raiders. Repairs are on all the time and the amount is increased depending upon your rank. The guild is still flush with cash, I even award bounty awards for a first kill if a particular fight if it is giving us trouble. On our first nef kill I awarded everyone 1k. But I keep nothing for myself. The only thing I require is all raiders bring pots
Apr 30th 2011 9:03PM If Sinestra had a normal mode then I might agree but you shouldn't have to complete any heroic modes before you move on to the next tier. The hm fights can be very class demanding and are there for people looking for an additional challenge but they certainly shouldn't be required. I just think firelands should be tuned around people in full 359 and normal should give 372 gear and the heroic should be designed for people in full 372.
Apr 16th 2011 7:17PM @ Matt Low - do yourself a favor and check out Party Down, and if you have time Parks & Rec(season 2 and beyond), and Archer.
Mar 29th 2011 12:34PM What if they made it where you had to be the leader of a raid to talk in the LFG channel? That way adventurer's could go outside of org and actually interact with the world whole still looking to see if there is a BWD group that needs them. Sure if some one wanted to troll they could get in a raid and be the leader, but to me it seems like it wouldn't be worth the trouble for most since it is far easier to just troll trade.
Mar 19th 2011 6:37PM Now I understand why Rift is so popular, it is for all the wrath babies that didn't want to take off their diapers or lose their pacifiers. Now that I know that it is at wrath difficulty I can write it off as not worth my time. I like a challenge, thank you. And those that don't can go have fun in rift.
Mar 18th 2011 9:01PM While I have raided since vanilla the most interesting afk happened very recently. We were doing our BoT clear working our way to AC when our shadowpriest said "afk earthquake". Yes he lives in Japan and he was only afk a few minutes, he continued to raid with us for the duration even having to deal with the aftershock tremors. Needless to say I gave him some bonus EP for raiding during an earthquake.
Mar 18th 2011 4:47PM I can't help but think maybe you guys are missin the point. He is saying ranged is harder than you might think because ranged is typically thought of as the easiest role but that by no means makes it "easy" and there is certainly a huge difference in a ranged at the top of their game and a ranged that just does the bare minimum. Unfortunately it isn't always as noticeable as people tend to just look at he meters, when we should also be considering interrupts( which granted melée tend to have to handle) dispels, avoiding fire, helping w/ a random clutch heal etc.
