Arcane Brilliance: Which mage spec should you be raiding with? {WoW}

Feb 21st 2011 4:05AM And that's what I get for being absent for a month and not reading patch notes. Reduced mana cost fireball? Oh thank you Great Cthugha

Feb 21st 2011 4:04AM I think it's worth noting a con for fire is massive mana consumption. My gear isn't great, and that's probably part of it, but I have friends who have the same problem. Getting through a fight as fire is a fine dance with the mana bar. Still though, I love my fire mage.

Dec 25th 2010 9:38PM Generally when in a group, I try to CC with the others at once (works best with those with cast times of course). The hunters I like use Trilynne's method. The ones that tend to make me frown (a little) just shoot their trap right on top of the mob without any communication. Hasn't made us wipe so far, but if I'm in charge of sheeping a melee (not often, granted) it makes my life difficult.

In general, I'd say Rogues need to go first since their CC only works out of combat. It also helps that Sap doesn't bring the wrath of trash down onto the rogue.

Dec 18th 2010 6:13PM There are lists out there, but Siamat in Tol'Vir drops a nice Mastery Trinket that boosts spellpower when a mob falls below 35% health.

Breakfast Topic: Is your race or faction choice based on sticking with friends? {WoW}

Dec 17th 2010 4:04PM After returning to WoW (again again) a year and a half or so ago, I didn't want to play my alliance toon (A 62 Dranei Hunter), and that was pretty much my only toon. So, I rolled up a brand spanking new Undead Mage on my roommate's server. It was pretty fantastic. I found the mage playstyle far more fun, and the undead casting animation was amazing. Eventually, my roommate stopped playing and I trailed off for a bit until I managed to pick up Wrath and get to 80. While doing so, a bunch of my friends from back home started playing again on a different server, and as alliance no less. Eventually, I ponied up for the faction/server change (ouch) and I've been playing with them ever since. While I always miss my undead roots, playing with my friends in our little guild (which is recruiting, by the way ;P Eaten By a Grue on ShadowSong (US)) is far too rewarding to change back without them. At best I'll roll an alt at some point.

tl;dr, Undead > Human, but Friends > solo
