Apr 5th 2012 9:50AM Entitlement works! Or uh, not. It seems to me like they're expanding on what's already there, instead of something new.
I just think that both sides aren't necessarily in the right on this one, it's a tricky topic.
Mar 30th 2012 5:34AM Whelp, as if I needed any more reasons to be flabbergasted with MS. I'm glad I have all my hard drives, but their security is still a mess. Did they ever even fix the Fifa/major money lost hacks?
It just sucks that what was once my favorite console now gets all my ire from this kinda crap.
Mar 26th 2012 10:59PM I think this is pretty cool. I'm already in for beta at the end of April, but it's nice that they're releasing a character creator tool. Because honestly, in A2 of the game... you had pretty limited playtimes so people like me tended to rush it then. Also great for making personal fanart references, avatars, etc.:)
Mar 15th 2012 11:01PM @Decanus Amen. I enjoy these games, my sister does, and me and my next door neighbor spent most of our days playing this alongside other SNES RPGs. It's a perfectly solid title for anyone.
Mar 15th 2012 10:59PM Harvest Moon games are freaking solid games. I am so glad I got to see an article like this spawn from GDC.
To the haters, specifically "VampireEater", who doesn't know his head from his ass- this game series started in the early 90s on the SNES. It's not a Farmville knockoff, etc. As a matter of fact, it was the first console farming sim really.
But, it's not just that. You earn moola, interact with people, and in later games, there's so much to complete your head would spin. I've not delved in for a short period after being a bit burned by a couple HM DS glitches. However, I've gotten back into the flow in Tale of Two Towns. Though, if you're just starting... I believe Friends of Mineral Town(GBA), Harvest Moon Boy & Girl(PSP, remake of Back to Nature from the PSone), and Magical Melody(cheap, on the GC) are the way to go if you've never been in the series yet. Older games can get pricy. There's also HM: Animal Parade for the Wii, which I've heard good things about from other fans and I just got that.
Honestly, A Wonderful Life/DS kinda put me off the of series for a while, but coming back in with a wealth of games to choose is nice.
And, these games are fine for girls AND guys. Hell, you can only play as a dude for the first main entries of the series. Me and my best friend played through so many of these games when we were younger, and they still hold up just fine.
There's also the River King games(I hear very good things, two GB games and a PS2 game), and if you feel like you want more of an action RPG fixing with your farm sim, try out the Rune Factory series- it has games on about every platform(Wii, PS3, DS). It may also be on the PSP, but I'm unsure.
But yeah, just remember to ignore naysayers. Games are solid and still hold up, which a lot of current games can't even stack up to sadly.
Mar 15th 2012 10:53PM @VampireEater Ah, so I see you're one of those "brown and mud" CoD/BF only "gamers". You are the trash and scrub that is killing gaming. GTFO, son.
Mar 15th 2012 10:52PM @VampireEater What are you on? Harvest Moon is a solid RPG/Sim. It's good for EVERYONE. I love how you think brown and HD shooters make someone the 1337est gamer ever. It's good to like a genre, but your comment comes off as way more shaming than the first.
Mar 13th 2012 5:58AM @GameGuyPeter This guy. You get it!
Mar 13th 2012 5:58AM Isn't this the guy who shit all over Japanese games at GDC? Yeah, don't care.
Mar 13th 2012 5:48AM @Xero Theory This. It sucks, but that's how it works. Wanna blame anything, blame the laws in place.
