Breakfast Topic: Spill your 5-man PUG stories here {WoW}

Jan 26th 2012 10:35AM So you and your group are exactly what everyone in this thread is complaining about, and you're proud of it?

-1 interwebz and I hope to God I never run into you in LFD. Sigh.

Breakfast Topic: Spill your 5-man PUG stories here {WoW}

Jan 26th 2012 10:13AM I got dropped from a PUG group on my alt mage in ZG by a similar group of guilded idiots about a month ago. Apparently by the time we hit the first boss, I was far out-DPSing their overgeared hunter in 380ish gear in my barely heroic 346ish gear, which made him angry, which then led to the healer not healing me. And the hunter trying to mis-D to get me killed from there out. I lasted until their vote-kick was finally off cooldown 3 more bosses in. I was sure to rub in how I was still out-DPSing him even with the two of them trying to get me killed the entire time. All went on the ignore list. It's gotten rather lengthy now...

20 observations from a leveling tank {WoW}

Jan 5th 2012 5:08PM When I leveled my Pally tank, I just let those DPS who aggro-ed early die after the first warning. When they would appeal to /p (as they always would, "l2tank noob", etc.), I would advise the party that I got the shield next to my name, I pull, not the DPS. Occasionally I would get kicked, which I didn't care, since I insta-queued immediately. Most often the dumb DPS would be chastised and shut up the rest of the run though.

Raid Finder loot rules changing in patch 4.3.2 {WoW}

Jan 5th 2012 4:21PM Not allowing people to need on items they already possess so they can "possibly trade" it later in the LFR run for something else they lose on needs to be eliminated ASAP. It's getting ridiculous.

I'm glad they're getting rid of the ability for the same person to win both tokens dropped at least, but more is definitely needed.

The OverAchiever: How archaeology could get a lot worse (and why we hope it won't) {WoW}

Jan 5th 2012 4:15PM To all complaining, I hope you maxed Archaeology in patch 4.0.1 like I did. You know, back when digsites appeared in Vashj'ir, completing rares was worth 5 skill points instead of 15, you'd only get like 4 fragments per dig at level 450, etc. I was shocked after not playing for 8 months that you get upwards of 9 artifacts now per dig. It's a whole lot better than it originally was!

I have Vial of the Sands, all the BOA epics that aren't level 85, all the original pets and "toys" from patch 4.0.1 (except Nerubian). Tol'Vir isn't that bad at all compared to Nerubian, which is not only (at least for me) rarer spawns, but there's absolutely nothing worth solving for it either.

And The Last Relic of Argus is freaking awesome, and should be on like a 3-hour cooldown instead of 12 :D

Profiting off the Darkmoon Faire {WoW}

Jan 5th 2012 11:33AM My alt mage doesn't have the guide and I've been rolling on drops, including the Treatise, in heroics. Won a few also. My lock has the guide and haven't seen anything drop at all, go figure RNG...

The Queue: Frogs, Doctor Who, Celery, and Penny Arcade {WoW}

Dec 22nd 2011 11:35AM I just wish there was a portal to Dalaran. Spent 6.8kg to get that Kirin Tor ring (suppose it's an achievement too lol) just to not have to wait for the boat and fly anymore. At least for Shattrath there's the portal to the Blasted Lands that's right in front of the Dark Portal.

Breakfast Topic: What's the most useless ability in World of Warcraft? {WoW}

Dec 22nd 2011 10:43AM I play a warlock as my main, so I'm familiar with the useless stuff lol

Detect Invisibility was removed with Cataclysm. Quite useless, especially since my lock is Human anyway, which the old racial did detect stealth at least. Though there was something random I recall in BC or WotLK where it was semi-useful. Ah, found it, it was Heroic Arcatraz and the invisible succubi lol.

Unending Breath is semi-useful if glyphed as you swim faster.

Curse of Tongues I think I used once on a boss encounter in BC. Same with Curse of Weakness. I play PvE, so maybe there's some PvP aspect of these I'm missing.

Shadow Ward is pretty useless if you're not Destro (where it becomes Nether Ward when specced which is awesome). Don't think I've ever clicked it.

What the Raid Finder's success means for the future of accessible content {WoW}

Dec 22nd 2011 10:15AM So if people continue to stand in bad stuff, let them die and don't heal/brez them. How hard is that?

And I agree on the loot issues. The same person shouldn't be able to win two of the same tier token in one run, and if they have that tier piece they shouldn't be able to need on it again, only greed like off-class tokens. If people weren't jerks this wouldn't need to be programmed, but unfortunately a lot of them are.

I am a little disappointed in how easy LFR is though. The only wipes I've had in multiple runs now of both sections has been idiots pulling the bosses before trash was cleared and dropping group. Other than that it seems really, really hard to wipe. We lost 11 people on Hagara before even 50% and still won. That seems wrong, even for roflstomp content.
