Mar 27th 2012 5:01PM I dimly remember there was a lowbie quest where horde got the Goblin Transponder in BB which allowed horde to teleport to Stockades or Gnomeregan from the gnome teleporter in BB. Apparently now available from Scooty who is relocated to Grom'gol.
Mar 21st 2012 9:10AM I remember on my NE characters I can shadowmeld and drink at the same time. Often a second mob would come past whilst I'm drinking.
When Evocation was part of the Arcane talent tree and Ice Block deep in the frost tree.
When elites walked around instance entrances
When Teremus The Devourer was badass and could be kited to SW for Bolivar to kill.
You'd raid MC for months to get the tier 0 gear, you have to visit the parents on your birthday and the damn boots drop.
Mar 6th 2012 4:39AM I remember in vanilla that pvp gear was better than anything and a lot of people played pvp (not me).
I got fed up with qq about OP (insert class here) because of pvp and how spells got changed for pvp balance which was stiff if you don't pvp.
These days things are better and PVE raiding is the best gear.
I read about the changes to pvp gear so that PVE gear is useless and that might reduce (if not eliminate) the need to change spells for pvp balance.
Therefore you can play any way you want to.
Mar 6th 2012 4:26AM What would you buy for a million gold?
You could buy the high level gear and mats but really the best stuff is obtained from raiding.
Main benefit is the thrill of achievement which gets old after your first million.
Mar 6th 2012 4:19AM Some years ago, I read here about a guild who tried to hold up the server wide Silithus event. The guild master had the sceptre and refused to use it.
I don't think there was a ransom, they were just being dicks.
Eventually the event would have happened on it's own but I'm not sure what happened in this case.
Feb 19th 2012 4:08PM looks good.
I hope these don't get wound back for pvp balance (I don't pvp)
Feb 9th 2012 7:00AM Have no classes,
What you do depends on the gear you wear.
On my first character (a mage) at level 3 I was annoyed that I could loot a leather item but not equip it. Used to think it silly to loot items you can't use.
Now you can use what you loot. Axes, wands the whole lot.
We'd probably end up as a single homogeneous class, perhaps pallies who can shoot fireballs, tank and heal. We'd also need large bags.
Jan 27th 2012 8:27AM I liked the class quests. Wasn't just one big one, there were several small ones as you levelled, sometimes getting you a class spell such as bear form or the felhunter.
I rolled a mage and warlock, the warlock was on a pvp server. I remember the various Tabetha quests in Dustwallow and the quests for the different lock pets and how a horde saw me go into a tent before I hearthstoned. (some lock quests were in Horde territory)
I remember the level 60 mage conjured water quest where you had to defeat a water elemental in Dire Maul. That water was really Uber but the game mechanic only allowed you to conjure two and you needed stacks for raids. BC let us make 4 at 61 and so on until you could make a stack all at once but it wasn't as good as the 65 water (two at a time)
There was also the level 50 trinket quests where you needed to get the 6 feathers from the trolls in Sunken Temple. Different classes had different variations. I think the mage quest was in Dire Maul.
I also enjoyed the Xylem quests in Azshara for a nice trinket, dagger or wand. I think you had to go to Sunken Temple and get something off one of the two dragons.
Jan 5th 2012 5:16AM On my mage the tank will often use some aoe which breaks my sheep. I think warriors use a cleave and pallies use the golden ground effect consecrate.
I might do a token sheep or two then give up if the tank keeps breaking them. Some tanks don't need cc and just hoe into them.
On my lock, I hate using succy as seduction is 15s and breaks often but can be cast automatically if the lock has more then one mob attacking him.
Dec 3rd 2011 8:03AM During the recession, some young middle management guy who has never played wow will look at a spreadsheet and will reduce mana by 10% and reduce vendor discounts.
