Druid and Holy Priests on raid
Pally beacon still dominates single target healing, in fact two pallys (one on each tank) and a resto druid on raid has been our best team in 10 mans thus far. When it comes to raid heals there isnt a single class out there that can compete with a druid. 14k hps is about the baseline im seeing with mine in half epic and half 346. The amount wild growth does as an instant cast and hot is about what a shaman can do with 3-4 chain heals. Save it takes me 1 cd, 5k mana, 6 targets, and did i mention its wicked smart? Sorry shamans you just dont have the tools to keep up... Earth sheild is great for tank healing but when it comes to raid heals, shamans just cant cut it anymore.
Jan 11th 2011 2:16PM Facts, Shamans were not the top healers at end of Wraith, Druids were coming in at 11k hps with no mana problems.
Shamans mastery is nearly worthless
Chain heal? see above
What they do have is Earth shield and Astral Rain which when stacked with a druid's Eff and wild growth a very potent combo for say Magmaw when raid damage is nearly constant.
All in all shamans are lacking the tools to keep up with pally and druid heals right now. Buffing chain heal slightly or a complete revamp on the mastery feels needed. My suggestion is for mastery to affect either healing totem or earth shield. Getting bonus heals right before a tank dies really is not useful seeing as Pallys are kings of the tank heals as usual. What a shaman can do though is lend an earth shield to a tank and sprinkle aoe and quick cast spells across the raid.
Know your spells and realize a shamans utility comes in the mana regen, earth shield, and aoe heals, not heals per second!

Dec 30th 2010 11:42AM Putricide by far, 2 strats and endless wipes later we got it. Took about 4 weeks and then went and 2 shotted dreamwalker, me single healing. Blood Council was pretty rough to but we got it and Queen down in the week I wasnt there so no achievement. Which led us to Sindy. Like clockwork we would get to second phase almost everytime and then everyone went crazy and ran every which way wether they had marks or not. People getting frozen left right and center, marks running to the tank and giving him a freezing hug. Our last attempt got him to 7000 hp. We had both tanks up, one tank dropping stacks, two resto druids up, and 3 dps. Everything was going great marks were getting to their spots, but then a healer got marked, freaked out and ran from the fringe of the group, right to the middle, queue wipe. Tanks made a great show trying to get her down without any help but it just wasnt enough. 1 gcd and we had it. QQ

Dec 24th 2010 7:16PM Lets some that up.... Chant gear, Gem gear, Drink/Eat Flasks and food
Most important read up on the fight, saving your healer those extra two heals goes far. As a resto druid I have a wild growth going every cool down and then a rejuv/swiftmend combo that takes full advantage of my stacked mastery for the dps that falls asleep at his/her computer. That said most healers do not have the ability to carry 2-3 lazy or inexperienced dps that want to stand in fires. We have a tank thats taking 15-20k shots on the chin not to mention the ocasional fire mechanic that they have to run out of. Making me blow a tranquility CD on Anraphet Heroic in Halls when he does put the purple goo on everyone is a poor management of spells when omega stance is around the corner where Tranq is really needed when your taking 40-50k each tick across all 5 people.
Its the same drum healers have been beating since Wotlk, make our job manageable. When we can we will give dps their due attention. Losing out on 15k/dps hurts the whole raid especially when brez's are at their premium. So dps, help us, so we can help you. ;)
