Jan 23rd 2011 2:34AM There ARE that many days in the week (more than 4), and there are guilds where you can raid with all of your alts, if not in a week, then in 2 weeks perhaps. I'm in one. I have 3 characters and they all raided in my guild in Wrath, weekly.
Jan 11th 2011 11:58PM I try to be addon-light myself, but I think Blood Shield Tracker is mandatory. I would give it up last if I had to (next to DBM and Omen). I really don't think it should be dismissed as easily as it was in the article. I also don't believe it will "became very clear to [you] that it was a mechanic [you] couldn't fully handle on [your] own." It is more readily apparent to your healer how effective this addon is, and its not noticeable at all as a tank just by playing the game how much you're suffering without it. I haven't played with this much, but it is also possible to track how effective this addon is by looking at Recount at the end of a heroic or raid and seeing how much healing you've done as the tank.
I have the heal-tracking-bar of Blood Shield Tracker right next to all my abilities, so I can see it at all times, and its much easier for me to see when it lights up green than to try to track my health every second. It also, of course, shows the actual number of the damage you've taken recently, so if its lighting up green a lot you can still see what would be the most effective time to use DS.
I think the only reason you would not find Blood Shield Tracker useful is if you constantly personally track how much damage you've taken in the last 5 seconds during every second of the encounter. If you are good enough to keep your DS off cooldown and use it only and immediately when you take several large hits (above minimum heal) by yourself, then you would not find much use in this addon. I personally use this addon all heroic, every heroic (and raid once my guild starts up again).
Jan 11th 2011 11:26PM Although Darkdust gave the link in a somewhat rude way, it leads here: http://wow.joystiq.com/2010/11/07/know-your-lore-the-origin-of-goblin-and-worgen-death-knights/
To an article in which Know Your Lore on WowInsider explored this topic in depth.
Jan 7th 2011 3:45AM Hmm, mine's tied I guess. I know a lot of people will think this is not much of an achievement, but I felt really fantastic when I won the STV Fishing Extravaganza. I'd only done it for about 4 or 5 weekends when it happened, and I just felt really accomplished when it did.
The other one I have was when I was healing a Ruby Sanctum mini-boss in a new guild. It was a druid and me (disc priest) and while I think one or two people died and got battle rezzed during the fight, at the end of it the GM (and raid healer) said, "Wait, you were two healing that? You guys are amazing!" Apparently we had another druid who had switched to dps for trash and forgot to switch back. Everyone congratulated us and I felt for perhaps the first time that I was a really good healer.
