Who's in for the arena battle? {WoW}

Mar 7th 2008 5:04PM You'll see me there. My character is already made. Mikala, horde Druid. Good luck!

The AV map imbalance in patch 2.3 {WoW}

Jan 17th 2008 12:34PM Sorry, but I have to agree with the commenters when they say the problem is mental, not physical. Take the Alliance in Stormstrike. They never try to play the field. A solid handful of them run straight to Galv just like in the old days. Only, instead of having free reign to kill him, they find Horde there and they don't know what to do. Horde doesn't push immediately, we wait, and that gives us the ability to crush the Alliance offensive from behind as soon as they enter that building. It's like a squirrel running into a cage for a nut, only to have the cage door swing shut. And since Alliance completely ignored Stonehearth, a company of 3-5 Horde can take the graveyard without trouble, which pushes Alliance respawn too far back to re-form an offensive. It's only then that Horde will take Snowfall, to ensure no alliance can rez anywhere but their base. End game.

If Alliance thought like Horde in our battlegroup, things would be different. Stay at Stonehearth. Defend your tower. Wait until Horde enter Balinda's lair, then swarm in, CC the tank, and rock them. Pick people off when they run by instead of letting them through. It's a new game. Play differently.

Breakfast Topic: How is your PvP Battlegroup doing? {WoW}

Jan 10th 2008 10:56AM Stormstrike (Horde) - on Andorhal

In the past every queue was nearly instant. Since the AV change, Stormstrike alliance are one of the 2 known battlegroups to try and boycott AV. Horde now has over a 2 hour wait for AV, and every time I've been in there, we win with honor gains of 650-0. Why? Because alliance still runs straight to Galvengyr but we Horde are defending it. Nothing beats Cycloning the Galv MT and basking in the ruckus.

The rest are still instant queues. I nearly always run into a pre-made alliance AB while pugging, though. EOTS is 50/50 for hitting a pre-made. WSG is wide open and a lot of fun. The only problem is that 90% of the time, when the gates open in all three BGs, Horde has maybe half the players, while Alliance' team is full. I think that means there are more Horde in our Battlegroup.

Arena? It's an even game on Stormstrike. Competition at the top is sparse.

Sticking with just one character {WoW}

Jan 9th 2008 11:18AM The question I'd ask as a follow-up to this post is, which Class do we single character people tend to play most?

For me, it's Druid all the way, especially since the big 1.8 and BC patches making more than one spec even remotely viable. As a Druid all I have to do is have different gear sets and different specs, and WA-LA!, I'm a warrior, I'm a rogue, I'm a mage, I'm a priest. It's turned me into a total bottom-feeder, grabbing gear no one else needs in the instances, my DKP is so far in the hole I can't find it, and my bank is stuffed to the gills, but it's all on one character! In a way, my gear-frenzy is a lot like playing different alts. I get a special sense of pride whenever I complete a new set to my satisfaction. Right now I'm buying heroic badge Moonkin gear.

Breakfast Topic: Attractive men {WoW}

Jan 4th 2008 2:02PM Since the post asks specifically about "hotness" factor, I go straight for the blood elf males. Decent asses, great animations, and clean design. Lots of their hair and face styles look gamer, which fits well to gamer mindsets. That's about it in the whole game. Night elves aren't bad, but I don't like them quite THAT rugged, and their shoulders are way too wide for their waists and legs. Their stances and animations are boring too and don't bring out "hotness" at all.

I love trolls for their coolness factor, but I wouldn't call them attractive. Still, they rank up there for sexiness since they have attitude.

The only thing I like in terms of sexiness with the Draenai is how they walk. They prance. It's haughty, confident, and strangely attractive.

All the rest? Not my type.

New online tool shows popular arena setups {WoW}

Jan 4th 2008 1:48PM Now if only these sites could merge popular set ups AND talent builds so you get a better description. Yes yes, "There's only 1 pvp build!". Whatever. I'd like to know if that Shaman is resto or elemental, for example, since both are pretty popular.

What will we call Magister's Terrace? {WoW}
