Dec 19th 2011 11:45AM Agreed, Hal. I believe Blizzard even mentioned once that they didn't mind people using PvP gear in LFR, although full blue PvP gear is pushing it, especially if you're a healer.
Having some PvP pieces doesn't hurt though, considering how high the item levels on them are now compared to heroic blues (especially if it's 390 or higher), and between the easier new heroics and 378 gear for JP, gearing up is much easier now than it was in the trollroic era. I believe skill and knowledge of your class is a much better asset in a dungeon than gear alone.
Also, Blizzard has already said, in a recent blue post by Netharea (spelling?) that one of the effects of resilience becoming a base stat in MoP is not only that PvE gear will be viable in some PvP situations (like random BGs), but also that PvP gear will have less of its iLvl budget devoted to resilience and more to other secondary stats, making it viable for some PvE situations (i.e, dungeons).
I still don't think full PvP gear is a good idea, but it's not nearly as bad as people think it is.
Dec 17th 2011 5:14PM This, especially if you just reforge the highest crappy stat into your best stat (in this case, mastery). That's what I do with all the haste/mastery plate on my fury warrior (who much prefer crit/hit).
Dec 14th 2011 12:43PM Omg I want Dungeon Dan so bad...I would pug as a tank all day with him at my side.
Dec 13th 2011 9:29PM "I need the extra Intellect" is not a good reason for taking it away from a priest or druid for whom the OH is their ONLY option (not counting staves). You have to think from the perspective of a priest or druid that loses that roll, only to have the shield drop later which they cannot even equip.
Dec 13th 2011 8:54PM How is it "fundamentally unfair" that paladins and shaman can't roll on offhands when they have a shield made specifically for them that priests and druids can't use at all?
Dec 13th 2011 10:06AM And for questing, raiding, or anything with a storyline in-game, you can't beat power metal.
Dec 8th 2011 7:13PM Except that they do change things like this...all the time. They do it already on every single PTR. I'm not a programming expert, but judging from my experience on PTRs and other game betas, I know that just because the coding is done doesn't mean they're not going to change all this before it goes live. On the contrary, the big surprise would be if nothing changed.
Dec 7th 2011 11:10AM "He needed servants and thralls"
I see what you did there.
Dec 5th 2011 9:35AM I don't use vanity items that often (especially now with transmogging). However, I am partial to my pink dress from the Lunar Festival on my Tauren Warrior - because obviously there's nothing more manly than a big, muscular cow man in a pink dress.
Dec 3rd 2011 2:03PM Hopefully they're as super cereal about making this a good game as Al Gore is about ManBearPig.
