Breakfast Topic: What do you think about the current Raid Finder loot rules? {WoW}

Feb 24th 2012 8:39AM There is a massive issue here and the comments explain it well. I will say however that I totally agree that they should make it that the only benefit from the loot that drops should be one of a gear up grade. Period. If its not something you can use then its only worth bag space or a “DELETE”. Im not to sure there is a need to reward players with gold for passing tho.

I appreciated this is a deviation from the main topic but the sheer ability to be totally screwed by the RBG Gods is far too much. I kid you not I run it every week on my drood healer and mage and have only seen the respective weapons drop twice, once per toon, I mean WTF I have had 3 runs where the Hunter Bow drops 4x. This happens on every boss. I’ve lost count when I see 4x same item drop from a boss and 3x the same item is pretty normal from my experience.

Far too many times has my mage dropped to his knees and looked to the heavens and screamed “WHY RNG GODS… WHY DO YOU HATE ME SO” honestly the only satisfaction I get from this is knowing that the warlocks in the group are going to go home and take it out on their Imp’s in frustration by way of a good beating. This really needs to be addressed.

The Queue: Yaks are cool, I guess {WoW}

Feb 22nd 2012 11:13AM All i want is group looting. one widow with all items shown. There are so many time sinks in the game already i honestly feel this is one is completely unnecessary now.

5 not-so-simple ways Blizzard can fix the World of Warcraft Auction House {WoW}

Feb 22nd 2012 7:29AM Just to add perspective to your example, i am from a high population realm and the markets are busy and cutthroat. Last week rare uncut red gems were going for 1200g bottom price, granted this is higher than normal, although not by much; but these things happen. so in the light of things its not as bad as you think.

this said i do appreciate that low pop realms need to be addressed for more than just there weak economies.

My last comment was intended to be finished with a sarcastic "Right?!?!?"

Feb 10th 2012 11:41AM Very much agree. I run on my warrior tank i get agi/int/spirit. I run on my drood healer, off spec kitty; i get Stamina/Strenght. now im lucky i can just swap them between toons but im pretty sure the game/system/RNG knows this when deciding on what to give me.

Breakfast Topic: What role do you play in your guild? {WoW}

Feb 7th 2012 10:32AM I am the guy who has every profession at max level with all the pats i can feasibly lay my hands on and as such when people want a high end enchant, gem, new glyph, belt buckle, leg enchant etc they call on me. More often than not It doesn’t effect my game play and most email me mats and say what they want which I am more than happy to do. Occasionally it can get annoying when someone who has just managed to get a shiny new item and they cannot wait to test drive it gemmed and enchanted and im running a raid/instance and they are forever whispering me asking how long till im finished. All in all it’s a torch I am happy to bear.

While we are on the subject, we have a guy in our guild who literally knows everything about materials. If you want to know where to farm/find anything in game, not just the usual ore/herb information, he will be able to tell you where in the game, what mobs, etc. Im probably not selling this guys ability well so put it this way, exclude weapons and armour from everything that is available in game, and he will know it. Recipes, he will tell you what mob sells it and where to find them. Want to know where to find an item to help with that rep grind, he’s your man. Want to fish for a certain food buff, he will tell you. doing that daily for a festival event, he knows. I mean this man is a walking wowwikki and thottbot combined genius. and before you say he is just using these two sites and relaying it…..nope. his responses are far too fast. Over vent whilst healing a heroic run he will answer a question where he frankly cannot drop screen and look it up in 2 seconds.

The WoW economy code of ethics {WoW}

Jan 31st 2012 11:06AM There are always two side to every coin.

I was only a dabbler in the gold market until massive end game burnout hit me last year, so im pretty much lvling toons and making gold ready for MoP to land.

Being a massive alt addict I have every max proff at my fingertips and tend to focus on 2/3 at a time depending on what ones are working well at the time. Ore and herbs are always needed regardless of what market I am playing. I do actively avoid buying from botters although I agree I have most likely bough there goods and will do so again unknowingly.

Now to the point. 3 weeks ago there was so much ore on the AH it was ridiculous. There were 3 sellers and between them had over 4000 stacks at just below market price but at those quantities the saving would be massive. I was just about to go “click crazy” on the buyout button and then decided against it as these were clearly botted goods. My main competitor logged about an hr later and bought the lot. Now I don’t know if they have handed out a lot of bans to botted accounts since but ore has now tripled in price at the minimum and there are never any more than around 1000 ores (not stacks) total on AH. This has forced everyone out to farm to cash in on the ore sales, which are not selling to people such as myself or just to use for themselves. Im glad its making the botters life even harder as on my farming run atm I am always one of at least 60+ competing in the same area and that’s only the people I see. (the Nerd raging during my few rounds is entertaining enough to make it worth it)

However while all this is happening my main competitor is making gold hand over fist. The price of cut gems has never been lower meaning that my current stock is being mailed between toons as I cannot even sale it to break even and do not have the storage for them. Belt buckles cost twice as much to make than they are selling for. Uncut gems at least for the moment are a thing of myth. Crafting plate gear is like throwing your gold into the great forge. This one event has had a major effect on my realms economy. This is the bad side of that coin.

The good side of that coin (from my competitors viewpoint) is that from the mass purchase of goods from botters he has established market dominance over most professions and is making so much gold it brings a tear to his eye. (that’s a direct quote btw)

The problem here is by being ethical you are in a phrase “cutting you nose of to spite your face” and just like any real world economy.. now lets face it gold making in WoW is a real life economy..there are so many people who couldn’t care less who they hurt as long as they are making money.

Now to me this is first and foremost “A GAME” and I am happy to take the moral high ground. However GREED runs this corrupt modern world and the majority of people in it are only out for “themselves”

Addon Spotlight: Twitter followers recommend addons, again {WoW}

Jan 26th 2012 10:30AM Are there any addons you know of that make buying multiple stacks of vendor items easy. So far the best way I have found is to use the stack function and type in the maximum amount. However when I want to buy 1000’s of items it still becomes a painful task. Any recommendations are welcome.

The Queue: Why I welcome the Dragon Soul nerf and why you should, too {WoW}

Jan 19th 2012 11:27AM Sorry but this gear from DS does not identify players with skill. Yes raiders have to be skilled to a certain degree.

These are just players that have the time and schedules to be an active raider. We have a hunter in our guild that is one of the most skilled players I have ever played with yet his schedule does not allow him the time to be an active raider. We ran LFR last night and he our DPS’ed a hunter decked out in 397/403 gear with full epic gems, not by much but considering the gear difference our hunter shouldn’t have stood a chance against a so say skilled player.

The other hunter spent the next two bosses trying to out do ours and failed twice, after accusing him on “cheating” he conveniently DC’d just before the last boss.

Gold Capped: Tracking the most frequently bought and sold items {WoW}

Jan 17th 2012 9:03AM I know this isn’t directed related but the websites The Undermine Journal and AHSpy.com to my experience display the same information with the Journal supplying allot of additional information. The reason i say this is am i missing something? is there a feature of AHSpy that isn’t available on the Journal that i have overlooked? (useful feature based to give information on deciding on what items to market)
