Spiritual Guidance: Healing Chimaeron and Atramedes as a priest {WoW}

Mar 10th 2011 5:08PM The hardest part of the encounter is surviving feud. In order to surive it you can do the following things (there is also a good guide on this at: http://25man.com/cata-guides/chimaeron). Good healing tips for Chimaeron are:

- Feud last 30 seconds, so dont pop every cooldown in the first 10 seconds, take 30 seconds into account.
- Use light-well left and right of the middle: and let everyone click it when stacking up

Use the following cooldowns:
- (Prot) Paladins – Divine Sacrifice (aka raidwall) and/or Divine Guardian
- Resto Druids - Tranquility
- Disc Priests - PW:Barrier
- Resto Shamans – Healing rain, Shadow priests use hymn,
- Holy Paladins - Divine Favor and Avenging Wrath (+Holy Radiance) and Guardian of Ancient Kings
- Holy priests spamm PoH

Blood Pact: Warlocks against the Twilight Ascendant Council {WoW}

Mar 10th 2011 10:35AM It seems like most people either have problems with: fire shield
(Ignacious), Chain lightning (phase 2) or DPS in phase 3.

The best way to deal with the fire shield of Ignacious (called: Aegis
of Flame) is to switch all DPS to Ignacious 3 seconds before the cast.
The raidleader should call this out on vent. This ensures that the
shield is DPS’ed down quickly. There is a very good guide about this
and other important facets of ascendant council at:
http://25man.com/cata-guides/ascendant-council)

The best way to deal with chain lightning (aka lightning rod in phase
2) is to have everyone stack in the middle and let people with
lightning rod move to the sides. Have your raidleader call out the
names of people with lightning rod.

The trick for phase 3 is to keep focusing on maximum DPS at the start
of phase 3 and survivability at the end of phase 3. Have your ranged
DPS stand in the middle and have the boss rotate around the room. Have
everyone spread out more the longer phase 3 last to mitigate the
increasing damage.

EDIT: As Vaengence noted it is advised to spread out a lot in phase 3.
Do not stack up

WoW Insider's Guide to Maloriak {WoW}

Mar 10th 2011 10:19AM As the people above noted Maloriak can have different behavior when casting release aberrations. We found out that Maloriak only casts release aberrations after Arcane Storm. (need some confirmation on this). Just make sure you have a maximum of 9 adds and interrupt any Release Aberrations that are cast afterwards. If that does not work it might have to do with the interrupters not doing their job.

People that have problems with this encounter might want to take a look at: http://25man.com/cata-guides/maloriak/ It is the most detailed guide I have found on the internet and it helped us master the encounter.

Scattered Shots: Hunting Halfus, Valiona, and Theralion {WoW}

Mar 10th 2011 9:53AM Haflus Drakes

Halfus is all a matter of finding out how to deal with the combination given that week and figuring out the abilities and assignments for the drake. We found out a nice guide that really helped us figuring out the killorder at: http://25man.com/cata-guides/halfus. It really helped us master the encounter

WoW Insider's Guide to Chimaeron {WoW}

Mar 10th 2011 9:45AM Another New Strategy for phase 2 is to tank Cho'Gall close to the wall. This ensures that the tentacles spawn close together and on top of each other. There is a comprehensive guide out there that helps a lot for people that want to use this ((http://25man.com/cata-guides/chogall or 25man.com/chogall).

Basically you tank Cho'Gall close to a wall so you can anticipate the tentacles that spawn. Most guilds (especially on 10man) have the most trouble with the last phase. Healers simply can't keep up with the healing. Tanking Cho'Gall close to the wall makes the last phase considerable easier.

- Especially PW: Barrier helps gigantically much. If you struggle let one priest spec disc and get PW: barrier.
- Also let DPS Shamans/paladins etc help with healing during feud (let them Stop DPS and help with healing).
- Having more than 7 healers shouldnt be needed (8 is a bit on the high side).
- If you still struggle it might be something with assignments or gear.

WoW Insider's Guide to the Omnotron Defense System {WoW}

Mar 10th 2011 9:41AM Toxitron and adds
The most difficult part about this encounter is toxitron. DPSing the adds is mandatory here. You cannot stun the adds, however you can slow them.
Hunters should be ready to use an icetrap and warlocks can for example use a glyphed shadowflame (70% slowed) on toxitron's adds. If they are slowed they are easily kited around the room. There is a good guide about this encounter at http://25man.com/cata-guides/omnotron). It is the most detailed guide I have found on the internet and it helped us master the encounter.

WoW Insider's Guide to Nefarian {WoW}

Mar 10th 2011 9:38AM Dealing with crackling (electrocute) is kinda tricky as people noted previously. You need to not only top people off just before it happens, you also need to use available cooldowns.

We noticed it helps a lot to have a discipline priest with Power-barrier to help with electrocute in phase 2. It works wonders to have a lightwell ready and let people use it just before electrocute happen (let people use bandage and healtstones here). If they die it is mainly their fault. Nobody should instantly die of it.

For people having difficulties with phase 2 and 3 I advise them to also take a look at http://25man.com/cata-guides/nefarian which is a pretty nice guide for this fight. Hope it works out!

WoW Insider's Guide to Blackwing Descent {WoW}

Mar 10th 2011 9:35AM I would use a DK with spec Frost and use Frost Fever with Chillblains talented (there is a good guide about this at http://25man.com/cata-guides/maloriak). It also depends if you are doing the 10 or 25man encounter. In 25man you can use two tanks and have an equal amount of adds on both tanks. If your tanks are geared enough they can just tank the adds (so they do not have to be kited).

As soon as the green potion is dropped in the cauldron you should start DPS on the adds. Especially demonology warlocks are very helpfull here.
