Mar 17th 2012 10:22AM What I think would be perfect is standardize gear in arenas and rated battlegrounds, but let PvP gear have stats so you can be better in unrated battlegrounds and World PvP and perhaps introduce unranked arenas where you can use your earned gear as well.
Anything competitive though is only hindered by gear checks. And in b4 "WELL THEN WHAT'S THE POINT!" Remember Blizzard will already be doing this for dungeon Challenge Modes and people are still going to love gearing up and getting better stats.
Mar 17th 2012 12:39AM At the end of the day, that's all people really do with their gear anyway. 2200 rating gear is bragging rights just has Heroic gear is bragging rights, I for one am all for standardizing PvP gear and making the rewards cosmetic. It resolves a lot of the issues people are currently faced with in PvP. Issues, for example, such as barrier of entry.
Mar 16th 2012 12:51AM Achievements, old world quests, PvP gear, level fishing/archaeology/cooking/first aid, maybe try a new profession, old raids/dungeons for transmog gear, the list goes on.
There really is PLENTY to do at all times in World of Warcraft, just gotta look :)
Mar 15th 2012 10:29AM To all the people who think that Mists is a move out of desperation by Blizzard, if this is where Pandaria is it proves Blizzard has been planning this for a LONG time!
(My guess is at this point they already know every expansion they want to put out)
Mar 15th 2012 9:17AM Nevermind, you caught it, haha.
Mar 15th 2012 9:16AM Article title says annual pass sign-up ends May 12th, when it's May 1st. Don't want to confuse anyone just skimming past the topic! :)
Mar 14th 2012 6:57PM To this day while daydreaming at work sometimes I randomly break out into "there I was, all alone in the Silithus Desert..."
Mar 13th 2012 11:09PM Even if everyone has it, mastery is still a tank stat for tanks. As to why there's no dodge or parry on gear, well they answered that in the post. Tanks need SOME damage capacity, not as much as DPS, but it still has to be good. Passives granted from talents and specializations make tanks intrinsically heartier than other characters, when fighting other players adding excessive dodge and parry in lieu of damage stats would make them as annoying to kill as healers, do about as much damage as healers, but not allow them to heal. Tanks in PvP need to be a happy medium between Damage and Healer, which is why they are so difficult to balance.
Mar 13th 2012 11:05PM Your "NOTE:" does not excuse your behaviour as the epic down votes can attest.
Press events are good because they create hype AND says "hey we have not just a little information for you, but enough for a whole event!", that wanting to know feeling you have right now? That's exactly what Blizzard wants you to feel. NDAs are good because put yourself in the shoes of a writer. NDAs, as many others have stated, give time to write thoughtful articles instead of the "live blog"s we got during BlizzCon where all the stuff you do care about is thrown in with all the stuff you don't care about. They get information overload, we get a highlight reel.
THEN we go over to Blizzard's site to look into the things that interest each of us individually.
