Have Group, Will Travel replaced with faster flight paths, flask "Chug-A-Lug" perk removed {WoW}

Mar 22nd 2012 3:19PM @Pam Yup, nice of them to give us cross realm functions like this and then whack those new functions in the knee with a crow bar, huh?

However, there was a blue post a while back about low pop and faction imbalanced servers and the devs having innovative and exciting ways (not sure those words are exact, but the overall meaning is correct) to solve this problem. We'll see...some are saying the concept of servers will be going away. I'm not too sure about that, but we'll see what they manage to pull off.

Mar 22nd 2012 1:58PM But if they'd just suck it up for a while and raid with 1 less non-guildie, they would be in guild groups getting that credit and getting credit for guild challenges, which reward guild xp, which would level the guild faster, which would get them the perk would and that would...you get the point, I'm sure.

Fact is, none of us had the perk at the start of Cata and those of that do have it earned it. It sucks to have anything you've earned taken away.

I'm going to miss it, but my real issue with the removal is the logic is flawed. It makes the world smaller? As if LFG/LFR and summoningg stones don't? Faster travel on flight points doesn't?

The only thing this does, really, is adds travel time to every aspect of the game. When was the last time you enjoyed travel in WoW?

Mar 22nd 2012 11:34AM Yeah, gonna miss that come raid night...especially when we need to replace someone for a fight. It's been really handy when a friend or guildie not in our raid wants to pick pocket Hagara.

I agree the reasoning behind it is weak, at best. By their logic they should remove the queue system and summoning stones. Warlocks can keep their summon as a cool class perk.

Breakfast Topic: What's your one wish for Mists of Pandaria? {WoW}

Mar 16th 2012 8:43AM I agree with this, except it's difficult for a book to enjoyable if there's no 'meat' to the story. Boring books tend to not do well.

I want a spectator mode in PvP and in raids. Not one that anybody can just jump in, they need to be invited (or at least on a friend list etc). It would be nice to for someone on the bench to get a better look at a raid encounter than they get in strat vids. And spectator mode for PvP? It would be a second Blizz game in the esports world.

The last gasp of 25-man raiding {WoW}

Feb 24th 2012 3:45PM I posted much the same debate (only favoring 10 man) a few weeks ago on my own blog:

Six gold-making macros that will save you hours {WoW}

Feb 24th 2012 2:28PM In the addon I mentioned, you can put exceptions to the auto sell (light feathers if you're not glyphed for levitate on your priest, for example).

Feb 24th 2012 2:13PM Auto selling grays and autobuying vendor items can also easily be done with an addon called reagent restocker. You can also add items to the 'sell list' such as flipped fortune cards etc.

Breakfast Topic: What do you think about the current Raid Finder loot rules? {WoW}

Feb 24th 2012 9:25AM Comparing Raid Finder to 5 man heroics isn't apples and apples. I can queue up for the 3 new 5 mans and run them all day every day. Granted I'm not getting VP past the first 7 runs, but I have a chance at a loot drop (and I've done exactly this).

Raid Finder is once per week for loot.

We need to manage our expectations about Mists of Pandaria {WoW}

Feb 24th 2012 9:15AM Can we get a link to where the devs have said they're forcing us into world PvP? I've read/heard nothing of the sort. They've said they're encouraging it, sure.

What Blizz has said is that they are *not* 'forcing' us into pvp, but encouraging it. I think they even made mention of a PvE server rather than a PvP server.

The problem with out community, and I've been guilty myself, is we tend to read too much into a blue post. Or maybe we read what we want into those posts (even if we just want something to be annoyed with).

We need to manage our expectations about Mists of Pandaria {WoW}

Feb 24th 2012 9:08AM I agree we need to be careful about not hyping. I don't recall if it was Bashiok or Zarhym that posted about not to expect too much from D3 (which the internet responded with "Blizz told us D3 isn't going to be good"). Really it was because people have built the game up in their minds to be the best thing since peanut butter met jelly. We need to not do that for Mists.

When people go on and on anout not liking Pandaren and then give an uninformed reason why, I cringe. What to we know about them other than their appearance, they love life and balance and they've been hidden for 10000 years?

Don't like it if you don't want to, just please don't make reasons up. I'm glad I stopped judging books by their cover a while ago, I've learned there's some cool stuff out there that you don't expect to be cool at first glance
