Breakfast Topic: What do you think about the current Raid Finder loot rules? {WoW}

Feb 24th 2012 8:52AM I don't see a currency being added for this, mainly because of past experience of having multiple forms of currency to convert to another. They could make it something you couldnt convert to, like Tokens of the wolrd Tree, cooking tokens, JC tokens etc. The biggest reason I don't see it is Blizz seems to really be sticking to the 'random loot is random' concept.

If we're sticking with the random loot concept, that's fine. I do like making things non-tradable in LFR. It would cut down on the folks rolling on an item for the purpose of trading later.

The biggest problem, I think, is that at LEAST 9 people in LFR aren't getting anything more then Valor Points (25 people, 16 items) and that's assuming there's an even distribution of the class-specific loot and nobody wins two rolls. That's not a problem in and of itself, it's that people seem to expect to win gear when there's at least a 36% chance they're getting nothing.

Wouldn't this be cool? The dark trolls and the underworld {WoW}

Feb 24th 2012 8:42AM I agree about being pretty tired of Trolls. I was pretty disapointed when Blizz confirmed Zandalar was on the map. Hopefully, Zandalar in Mists' version of Tol Barad/Wintergrasp and is as involved in the overall story of the expansion as those zones were (aka not at all).

I understand the lore about them being the oldest race on Azeroth, but unless we're going to explore something related to that part of them, I think I need a break from them. I mean when we left the planet in BC there was a troll instance added. They're as ovder-done in the game as Night Elves are in the novels.

Looking for raid, or looking for trade? {WoW}

Feb 16th 2012 9:55AM I think the loot trading and complaining about loot in LFR is going to be the face of things until Mists comes out...then I think the new talents are pointing us in the direction that at least on/off spec gear may become a thing of the past. I spilled my brain in my blog here:

Breakfast Topic: Is silence golden in PUGs? {WoW}

Feb 9th 2012 9:03AM I don't talk a whole lot in PUGs, but I typically tank and am a little too occupied to type. I usually start with a hello or howdy, maybe some chatting during the RP events, and a ty for grp at the end. If someone AFKs and we stop to wait, I'll usually jump into a conversation if one is going.

Whenever an ill mannered pug throws out a comment about dps I ignore it, or point out that they are barely beating the tank themselves and it usually stops it (well geared blood dk's can do some good dps). If it doesn't stop the attitude, those players and the 'wtf noobs' and 'l2p noobs' people quickly make my ignore list.

FYI, not many realize it, but LFG/LFR won't group you with people on your ignore list. Since I've started using the ignore list more, I've noticed my PUGs are more enjoyable making me think I had a huge streak of bad luck for a while and the current player base is mostly the non-dbag variety.

Breakfast Topic: What's the worst trash pull in the game? {WoW}

Jan 29th 2012 9:11AM Wow, difficult to answer.

I think the Ultraxion trash is worse in LFR than in normal mode, but still annoying in normal.

Firelands trash was just too...abundant.

If you consider it in the proper time, and (and even now it can still be annoying), and that I usually tank, I would say the packs around the lightning pyramids in Vortex Pinnacle. I think the mechanic of that those pulls are a bit much for trash in a 5 man, add in the pug factor and it just isn't pretty.

Would removing legendaries be a benefit for the World of Warcraft? {WoW}

Jan 27th 2012 4:40PM As has been mentioned in the comments, there's too much potential drama picking who gets the priority etc.

For drama-avoidance, I say get rid of'em (I have never had one myself, and I'm ok with that).

There's no reason legendary items can't stay in, still be status symbols, and not cause balance issues - let them be used to in transmog but have stats/abilities that aren't that special...or only proc against dragonkin and elementals (for example).

The Daily Quest: No BlizzCon makes us sad pandaren {WoW}

Jan 27th 2012 10:35AM Funny than Anne mentions the blogospehere's reactions to the 'no blizzcon in 2012 message' - here's my own lol:

On Jay Mohr as a host - I like him, but I dig that style of humor.

No BlizzCon in 2012, championship to be held in Asia {WoW}

Jan 25th 2012 8:52AM I'm sad of no Blizzcon this year because 2012 was my first and I wanted to take that experience and what I learned from it to make make 2012 more fun for me. But, at the same time 2012 is shaping up to be a busy year for me too, so in a way I'm glad this is one less thing I feel like I need to figure out how to work in.

No BlizzCon in 2012, championship to be held in Asia {WoW}

Jan 25th 2012 8:50AM I'm not surprised by Titan not being ready to be unveiled since they said at the closing ceremonies in 2011 that it probably wouldn't be until 2013.

No BlizzCon in 2012, championship to be held in Asia {WoW}

Jan 25th 2012 8:48AM I've been skeptical of their claims that they make no money off of Blizzcon, but I doubt it has anything to do with DTV wanting more. The way that would typically work is DTV pays Blizzard so much money and then they get to keep most/all of the PPV money (why do you think DTV is the only place to get NFL Sunday ticket? They paid the NFL a few billion)
