Breakfast Topic: That first WoW trailer no one seems to remember {WoW}

Mar 1st 2012 8:50AM it was "all horde", because orcs, zombies, taurens is what really passionated writers and artists in Blizzard. it's "cool".

trolls (I know now there are many trolls instances), gnomes, elves, even goblins, draenei was all artistically full-fleshed long time after. Humans was just an enemy to the cool Orcs.

I still think cataclysm shows blizzard really really wanted to sell, write, draw, play the stories of noble corrupted orcs and tragic dark zombies.

by the time of wc3 frozen throne, something changed, Arthas, Illidan and Malfurion was well written and exploited, but still, you can see in Metzen and Samwise how much the horde was important for them.

heck, Samwise really loves his old pandaren creations, okay he couldn't put them in warcraft how much he would have loved, but at last, they're coming.

My point is : theses authors and others in Blizzard have passions, tastes, personal goals, and it shows in early wow and even now.

it's not a complaint. it's my explanation from reading their works for many years.

Mar 1st 2012 8:41AM no. It wouldn't sell me wow.

I was sold to wow because I saw gnomes in it, because I previously knew about Illidan, Thrall and the kind of story telling and art by Blizzard.

In fact, Warcraft 3 + the promise of massive dynamic rpg with people sold me Wow.

In this trailer it lacks of the charms I saw in wow, but the Tauren.
The imagery with the Tauren is what I like in wow. Generic zombies and barbarians, no.
