Nov 23rd 2011 8:23AM I might surprise a lot of people there, but when I want to have a good time, I just run random heroics! Not ZA/ZG. Heroics.
I'm a 380 ilvl Enhance shaman and boy I love my spec! I love my char so much that I haven't played any other in 2 years. I love to DPS on it, it' so awesome. Sometimes I just feel like "Damn, I haven't got any fun for a while." Then I queue for a random heroics, I top the meters with ~8-10k above everyone else. I don't care. I help them. I have fun. I'm having a good time.
It won't be a surprise then to tell you guys I can't wait for "timed" runs in MoP with medals and stuff. Now I'll have a very good time!!
Sep 24th 2011 11:50AM Mine was ToC!
I remember when my brother told me about the game and then just urged me to come play with him because "they needed a bloodlust" (he was playing with friends). Then I lvled my shaman kind of fast (in a month) and the day after I dinged 80, I was invited in a ToC 25, back when our guild did two 25man raids every week.
I just remember that I didn't know what the fuck to do, I was just following people and having A LOT of fun. I didn't top the charts, but I wasn't dead last too! It gave me some confidence that I could compete with these guys even with blues and a clunky rotation.
My Enh shaman is now often topping the charts, and still raiding today! Raiding is just plain awesome. No other game can give me that feeling.
Aug 5th 2011 7:42PM God! I'm not a healer, but I can easily say GTFO has changed my life; it has literally improved my overall raiding experience. I used to die often due to tunneling (watching OmniCC seconds, clicking my cooldowns, watching timers, etc.) and I was often dieing because I wasn't always watching my health bar/environment.
With GTFO addon, I improved 2 parts on my raiding 1) my brain is more focused on what's going on and 2) I die a lot less than I used to. I remember I had hard times finding good raiding groups because when I had good groups, they often told me "Oh, you dead again?", "It's him, don't bres him." Or things like that.
I can now clearly see the difference as I'm often the last one alive and I almost never die in fire. What used to kill me 90% of the time, now kills me 5-10% of the time. A MUST-have addon. Over DBM imho.
I know I'm not a healer (I'm DPS), but it should even be more useful for a healer! Because it's easy to tunnel-vision when you heal (watch HealBot, Grid, or Raid frames, etc).
Audio cues: best tools ever.
Jun 25th 2011 6:26PM Wow! What a nice article. Although gemming Haste had good points: no headaches in what to gem, you take everything that was haste, etc. I also think we don't want to have it because it only increases our white-attack and that sucks really.
I also think Bloodlust is a big problem. We need some kind of mechanic that makes Haste more attractive without making it primary.
Jun 4th 2011 4:42PM Very nice post. I have to say it, I'm among the first to QQ about Enhancement shaman not being buffed. I know it's just a matter of perspective, but when you see Mages, Warriors, Rogues, Hunters, etc. All being buffed for no real issues other than damage... well I start to think why are we forgotten?
I know some issues were corrected, but we still scale bad, our AoE is still bad. And we're last on the chart...
But to be honest, I have to agree with you. Blizzard answered some of our problems and we may not be the "redheaded stepchildren" of WoW. We are not ignored, but we can clearly say we do not give us much love... :/
Mar 19th 2011 6:22PM Excellent writing! Although I think you can pretty much live without PowerAuras in Cata. It was very useful in Wrath for Maelstrom stacks, when your shield went off and so on. But honestly, I've stopped using it in Cata and I don't really miss it!
Feb 19th 2011 4:32PM I would pay 10$ to read you everyday, as I'm always learning something!
I wonder how Blizzard could end the FT/FT debate, since it is still pretty good. I am more than happy though to see my "tornado of doom" back. Windfury is awesome!
Jan 22nd 2011 7:50PM Don't make Josh cry!
Jan 15th 2011 8:16PM Orc is the best ever! Taurens just look cool.
