Mar 27th 2012 6:23PM If you don't have or haven't played a Horde toon for a while, it might be worth it to make an Orc and walk around. While there are 3 openings into the Cleft, the 2 on the West (Ashenvale) side combine at a Y junction. These tunnels are smaller too but do lead directly toward the instance portal. I preferred to come in from the sea side, over the Valley of Honor as that opening and tunnel are much larger. You do have to turn 180 into the instance, but if all goes wrong, it is also a shorter path.
Mar 27th 2012 2:48PM I've flown into RFC a few times on an 85 (presumably that's what you're going to use). As long as you start up above the city high enough to time the flying patrols or get lucky when you launch off the top of the zeppelin (you can ride the zep from Grom gol or UC by sitting on top).
And yes you can also fly into the Stocks too, but the door is much smaller so I'd say it is a little harder for Horde to get into the Stockade.
Mar 25th 2012 7:10PM Yeah I keep pushing back when someone in game talks about being happy or sad about killing Garrosh. I also want to give Bliz some credit and not doubt that they blundered releasing that tidbit. Then again, they've also said there is no "big bad" in the expansion, though with this maybe they've changed their minds.
Anne, I like the way you lined up the similarities between father and son, though since they did not know each other, there really isn't any nurture connection there, its all nature.
Two orcs of the old horde, from a land without peoples to work cooperatively with (excluding the draenei, arakoa, ogres, and anything else) they lived a very hard life.
What none of the old horde holdouts seem to have learned is that when you come to a new world, with an entirely new ecosystem, population and ways of living, when you go on a bloody rampage and then get beaten (and betrayed from within), the winners are going to be a bit miffed at you and you really can't hold that against them. You could have been killed en-masse, but someone (or several) let you live as a people, imprisoned until they decide they can trust you. They don't see Thrall's "non-actions" of diplomacy with the trolls and tauren winning them a homeland. They must have missed entirely the alliance with the humans and night elves saving the world they were on.
Sometimes though I wonder if the War of Warcraft part of the game is the major driving force, or if there is some kind of resentment brewing in the orcs that we don't see in the game.
Mar 20th 2012 12:13PM I don't think the "too many instances" is a rule as much as a technical limitation. I remember reading something about the instancing tech and how it creates and destroys your copy of the instance being the limit.
Mar 2nd 2012 7:00PM I want the butcher bot from the Tanaris quests.. but for skinning (and potentially herb/mining). Could have a couple levels for skill brackets and it would only be able to skin maybe 20 corpses, never proc extras or rare hides. Eventually it would "die" and be lootable, then possibly scavenge-able for bits.
Feb 15th 2012 11:13AM Yeah yeah, why not. Looked at a couple in SW, won't be as nice for gathering, but I managed on a netherwing drake.
Feb 13th 2012 5:30PM If someone has no usable frame of reference you won't be able to make an analogy to what they know. That's separate from them knowing about but not caring about something.
If you have seen a few minutes of a sports show, you'll at least have that frame of reference. Someone can then say "I do something like _blank_" and you know what they're talking about. If someone doesn't have any frame of reference, has no interest in it "It was ok, for a cartoon" you can either explain everything to them, or just use the generic words that Anne does "I do computer stuff."
Feb 13th 2012 12:06PM You are to WoW what the Sportcenter people are to sports. You help the rest of us playing a game get more out of that game, by helping us know what's going on, what to look for, and speculating about what might happen. The NCAA brackets are our talent points, but we at least get to play in the games.
Feb 8th 2012 2:42PM I also use the Inscription scrolls from lower levels if my hearthstone cooldown is up. Sometimes I get a zone closer to an archy dig site, or some other location I want to go.
Another thing not mentioned explicitly, you can use the opposite faction's ship / zeppelin, especially after 60 when you can fly. Horde zeppelins are easiest for the alliance, as they can land on top of the balloon without any risk from guards. Grom gol in STV to Brill in Tirisfal is a great time to use it, since the Ally don't have an easy way to the northernmost EK, if you want to run a guildie through SFK or SM, or go yourself for cloth drops.
Feb 3rd 2012 2:40PM A combo of MikeLive's idea and this .. the Pandaren bring everyone together and faction lines drop. Most quest lines would remain as they are, and faction cities would be the same. Some outposts and quest hubs run by neutral organizations, like Hearthglen for the Argents, the various Cenarion camps, pretty much all of the Cata zones (minus Vashjir) would be neutral areas.
Players able to group, especially if on neutral faction quests, is something I've wanted to see for a while. Velen's comments in Swamp of Sorrows and the comments about the Sha and conflict empowering them seem to imply we need to fight less and work together more.
That solves the larger issues of a third faction, namely how do you handle the friends that play an orc, tauren and forsaken and won't if the factions split. Paid race transfers would still be usable, if you wanted to pick up a new racial or swap "sides" for a variety of reasons.
