Jul 13th 2011 12:15PM We had a really fun time with "That's a Lot of Bait". Instead of using the Borean Tundra trick, we held a weekly fishing derby--anyone could join in. Contestants had to specify what we were fishing and where (which yes, relied heavily on the honesty system), and after an hour we met up with the judge in Org to have our fish counted. We had gold and rare pets as rewards for the top three fishers, and it inspired a LOT of fun banter in Vent.
"Critter Kill Squad" was hilarious as well. It was common to hear someone abruptly shout "CRITTER!" over Vent, even if all the people online were spread all around Azeroth at the time.

THANK YOU. God, some of the comments on this article have me absolutely shaking. It's not even surprising, which only adds to the frustration and anger.

Definitely a good point there. I guess I'm helped in that regard as I have my player and target units moved (via Shadowed Unit Frames) down on either side of my toon so I can see my debuffs and combo points even when the gigantic bosses push the plates off my screen. Althooooough, I think TidyPlates just added a new function to move them down lower (or up higher) on the enemies. I might play around with that.
Mar 7th 2011 2:26PM Chiming in with the others recommending DroodFocus. It was an excellent solution for me until I realized I'm the kind of person who has a hard time looking away from the action to glance at a display (otherwise I'd be all about Cat's Eye right now!), soooo...
TidyPlates helps me see combo points and debuffs on a mob attached directly to their healthbar, which works easiest for me. You can also see the debuffs ticking away on enemies which are not targeted (although this might be slightly buggy--sometimes it does this, sometimes it does not), and the tug-o-threat bar replaces my need for Omen!
ForteXorcist is my other claim to fame, used only for the sliding cooldown bar in my case--it sits down next to my action buttons and helps me keep track of when Berserk, Tiger's Fury and any on-use tinkets are ready to be used. This is great for my play-style because the visual effect of the cooldowns sliding along the bar lets me see what's going on in the corner of my eye. (Or bottom of my eye, but that sounds pretty weird.)
Mar 3rd 2011 12:27PM I was actually getting a start on my Loremaster achievement on Thanksgiving Day when Deathwing paid me a visit in the very first place I went to--Southern Barrens. I'd heard rumor of the upcoming periodic roasts, but I had no idea it had begun. Figured the sky turning red was part of the quest I was on, and before I knew it I was faceplanted and getting "lol gratz" from my guildmates.
My fiancee was in Org at the time and, having watched the gigantic dragon fly overhead on my screen, he announced to /trade that Deathwing had been spotted. A /deathwing channel had been created on our server so we could report sightings to each other; the sudden influx of "[Name] has joined the channel" made me laugh so hard.
Jan 27th 2011 3:00PM Ha, you've named just about every addon I adore the most! (Except I've yet to try out SLDataText, and I think priority-wise in a top five list I'd put Bartender above ButtonFacade, although I certainly enjoy my Caith-style buttons.)
Another one I really like is ForteXorcist's cooldown timer. It's mostly geared for warlocks, but it's still handy for me to use on my feral druid when I'm juggling Tiger's Fury and Berserk (and sometimes forgetting to refresh MotW).
