Encrypted Text: Meet your new poisons {WoW}

Feb 29th 2012 10:34AM I have to say, I'm REALLY disappointed with the itemisation design for Combat. Cata saw the end of quick off hand swords and axes which was really sad for me having come in during Wrath. Seeing myself and other Combat Rogue's stalking Dalaran with a pair of scything axes on our backs was awesome and exactly what I wanted from the class. Now due to poison redesigns, as stated here and simplifying loot tables, it seems we'll never see what was in my opinion the only athletic dual wielding spec.

All this talk about class redesign just doesn't excite me like a (albeit vain) return to a dual sword wielding slasher spec would.

I'm not fussed about any potential "loss" in how "mathy" the class is. It will still take a decent amount of skill to play the class well. Whether someone else does that for you or you are able to do it yourself makes no odds to me.

Know Your Lore: Cataclysm's end {WoW}

Dec 4th 2011 6:44PM "So what are we going to do? We're going to take the lessons of the Aspects and promptly go to war with each other. I'm sure that's going to go over very well.

Mists of Pandaria is shaping up to be something far more interesting than anything we've been led to believe."

So the two factions with all their power, bringing the world to its knees. I wonder if this is setting the game up for a Lore-wise reason for gear deflation.

Imagine; the two factions have warred with each other to the point of near annihilation, innocents have been slaughtered, the Old Gods are gaining in strength, influence and ground. The titans turn up, see it's all gone to shite and re-instate the Aspects whilst simultaneously crippling the capabilities of Azeroths beligerents.

On a side note; why must there always be a Lich King - but no empowered aspects? It seems awfully strange these former immortals with their unique powers have willingly given them up. What if the mortals were to be corrupted? How would this be much different to a world overwhelmed by the scourge?

Nov 7th 2011 7:27AM This makes perfect sense. In the Deathwing raid, we see the "true" face of Deathwing, so to speak when we finally have him cornered in the Maelstrom. The Old God begins to manifest itself properly in it's chaotic form as Deathwing's rage, anger and hatred become exposed outside his coating. Analogous of the Azeroth/Azethoth theory, don't you think?

State of DPS in Firelands page 2 {WoW}

Oct 4th 2011 9:49AM Two key points.

1) You think Fan of Knives makes for good AoE. It's almost certainly below average. Compare it to something like a Feral Kitties Swipe and you'll understand. Perhaps you meant Blade Flurry? This is widely regarded as the best cleave in the game, but let's face it, is extremely situational and has no use whatsoever on a Baleroc parse.

2) You think Combat has amazing burst. It's not viable in PVP because it has no burst, unlike Subtelty. It's a constant quick flurry of above average damage exacerbated by things like Killing Spree and Adrenaline Rush. Combat struggles big time when there are multiple moving targets as it's CD's lose uptime and CP refreshers for said CD's are less common.

Apr 7th 2011 8:08AM I'd like an armoured Netherdrake, armoured Proto-Drake or armoured Dragonhawk please. Oh, and a way of obtaining the original Amani War Bear. :)
