Nov 15th 2011 7:22PM I don't think global cooldown is the problem the author is describing. It's the dependence on autoattack. In a sense they missed their own point. Whether it's a resource production mechanic, in the case of a warrior, or a proc producer in the case of enhancement shamans, or other effects for other classes autoattack is simply a clunky mechanic that does not lend itself well to the active kind of gameplay that Blizzard has been moving toward. Nor is it fun because it gives no real reflection of the choices players make. Frankly, I think it would be a lot more fun if weapons simply had damage ratings without any speed. It would remove the idiotic dependence on slow weapons with lower dps but higher damage ratings which some classes have and make it easier to see if a weapon is an upgrade.

Jun 18th 2011 11:07AM I still think the easiest way to fix Balance Druids is to make the Eclipse state a timed buff lasting for say 30 seconds to 1 minute. Any fight longer than a minute (all boss fights) require going through both eclipse states. If you need to AoE between eclipses you use Hurricane and Typhoon, the way you're supposed to.
Apr 15th 2011 11:44AM What about changing Eclipse to a buff with a timer. When you hit eclipse you have 30 seconds where you are buffed, then when the buff wears off you work your way back to the other side get the other buff and have 30 seconds with it.
Mar 23rd 2011 5:14PM What about taunts. Death Grip is a fantastic ability that has an effect very similar to crowd control. Death Knights already have that. It's what tanks use to keep stuff off the healer. A battle rez, plus a taunt, for a plate wearing class sets Death Knights in a great spot (though I think the battle rez is completely out of flavor for the class unless it has some kind of unholy debuff where the guy dies when the group/raid leaves combat requiring a proper rez through holy or nature magic).

Mar 4th 2011 12:35PM Yeah baby! Ferals are back in the PvP game! I think that's a great balance decision that support's ferals traditional strength, gives an edge to cat form especially, and prevents them from being quite so OP as flag carriers. Whoohoo!!
Feb 24th 2011 1:24PM Enhancement can now do Fire Nova with Searing Totem up! Yes!! More complicated or not this is clearly a major buff for both DPS specs! Removing Earthquake channeling has been a long time coming and actually makes it useful for battlegrounds if it keeps it's knockdown effect.
Feb 24th 2011 1:20PM I believe this was aimed at PvP where Prot Paladins in particular, and Ret Paladins had insane battleground survivability through WoG spam. They'd nerf Holy too, but Holy Paladins don't have an alternate use of WoG until Light of Dawn which is now only a specialized raid heal.
What I wonder is how the heck are they going to deal with this nerf's interaction with the Protection Talent Eternal Glory?
Feb 18th 2011 8:09PM In my opinion only three real options exist beyond the status quo. 1) High stakes, and therefore high cost, insurance for companies that become victims of theft, which will push small time operations that can't afford that protection out of the market and jack up the cost of games, 2) some kind of government mandated insurance/compensation for theft that passes of these costs to taxpayers, such could apply to any copyrighted material, not just games, and might be a really good idea, and 3) Much harsher criminal penalties for people who leak, sell, or distribute copyrighted property, that reflect the massive potential damage. 2 years probation for a major leak with Half Life 2, did that appreciably affect the piracy that goes on? No. It apparently didn't. 5-10 years in jail might though.
