Mar 16th 2011 12:13PM I think the idea of blizzard "catering" to any particular subset of their fan base is silly. If anything you can step back and look at WoW as a test run for their Titan project. Each expansion introduces new techniques and new technology. They throw a bunch of new shit out there and get feedback from the player base then next expansion they bring it to the level the majority of the player base wants. I personally love phasing. It keeps the people questing in one area spread out and when you see someone doing the same quest you are on you can always ask them to join you for an hour or two since you know they have the same quests available. It's a pain for gathering, but that is a worthy trade off. I am about as casual as it gets. Wrath was my first real expansion and I loved how easy it was to fly through heroics and get a bunch of pretty purple pixels. (P3) I joined a guild looking to start raiding and got my ass handed to me. I think tough heroics are necessary to teach people patience and strategy in raids instead of trying to blow through shit as fast as possible. Derp.
Mar 15th 2011 12:29PM Yah that was pretty awful. It sounded like someone wrote the lyrics in homeroom or study period. As a die hard horde I would just as soon throw all Belfs in to the abyss, especially now that we have Tauren palis and goblin everything else. I hate seeing blood elves trying to represent the horde. It reminds me of suburban white kids trying to be hardcore gangsta.
Mar 14th 2011 11:33AM The only moral quandary my goblin has is whether he used enough gunpowder or not. You can never have enough gunpowder.
Mar 11th 2011 11:00PM If I ever get in a crowd of people Ill bust out "4 strength 4 stam leather belt?". Usually someone will laugh and you pretty much know its another wow player. Damn I gotta go listen to that now.
Mar 10th 2011 11:32PM The obvious answer is to cry about it on the internet and complain when someone else hasn't done anything about it yet. Also applicable to most political discussions.
Mar 10th 2011 12:05PM I would think the writers of a blog being around this long would have a little better sense than to bring up something so troll prone. I don't even understand the point of discussing something that can turn ugly, especially on the internet. Anyways, if you really want to learn who is gay then play some random battlegrounds and watch their chat. The amount of homosexuality in WoW is proportional to how many hunters and rogues the other team has.
Mar 9th 2011 4:21PM Just started running my Spriest after taking a long break and have been loving it. I am running 5 mans right now, not too worried about heroics really. I tell you one thing though, went to play some BGs during the eots holiday weekend and was pretty impressed with the damage and survivability Spriests had. Between shields, dispersion and fears I was taking on 2 and 3 people at a time and doing well. The only real question I had was about the shadowy apparition thing. Is it worth it to try and predict a tick from SW:P and run for a sec or just let it happen normally? I was curious if there is any way to tell when one of your dots is about to tick or is it all on feel. Seconding the Spriest 201 too!
Mar 9th 2011 11:31AM Gonna go a bit simpler and say the rocket belt goblin racial. I have it on the same keybind for every goblin and its getting used more and more as I play. Its a game to see how close to the ground I can get after jumping off the cliffs in org before i hit it. Its saved me numerous times from falling damage and I'm starting to use it more in PvP. Caught a hunter half stepping trying to kite my warrior in AB once with it. Jumped at em and unloaded and walked away with the HK. The rocket barrage is awesome too. (I'm including them both because its on the same cooldown and is supposed to be the same item). Ran a low level shadowfang keep pug with 3 other gobs and some other guy. On the last boss we all launched our rockets at the guy right when the fight started with no planning, it looked like some sort of insurgent attack, it was great.
Mar 9th 2011 11:22AM People running 5 mans in full BOAs pulling aggro from the tank then bragging about their DPS in party chat are the guidos of WoW.
Mar 7th 2011 7:09PM I would suggest making friends with an alchemist or being an alchemist. Having level appropriate healing potions when you need them is a huge boon, especially lower levels. The potions you find are usually 7-8 levels lower than you and aren't as efficient. I can't tell you how many times having a couple potions have saved my butt from a bad pull or whatever.
