Apr 4th 2012 1:57PM ^ I don't believe that.
I mean, honestly - do you REALLY take it off? :)
Apr 4th 2012 1:56PM I don't know about y'all (and I've already been on about this previously, so bear with me):
When 5.0.3 drops (or whatever they call it) - I'm gonna go wreck shop in old instances. I mean, I am gonna through every one and pull the whole damn place down on top of me.
Then I'm gonna AOE them all until they're D-E-A-D.
And then, oh, then... the sweet, glorious AOE looting.
I'ma try and see if I can fill up all four of my illusionary bags with one autoloot.
Apr 4th 2012 12:27PM I guess I just figured they could redesign gems from the ground up. I mean - honestly, would that upset anyone?
The design they have now is elegant in that the blending of colors makes sense to help you know sort of what to expect, but... It sucks because it overbalances the value of one particular variety beyond the other.
The only other salvation for the system that I can see is - make +20 primary stat socket bonuses more frequent below the last tier of gear in the expansion.
Apr 4th 2012 12:15PM monk.joystiq.com?
Maybe they'll get their own SITE!
Apr 4th 2012 11:48AM My guess: the upgrades will have a min ilevel requirement, like enchants.
Apr 4th 2012 11:44AM "Changing the primary stats to three different colors would eliminate a lot of potential Primary/Secondary combo gems."
This statement isn't processing for me - can someone enlighten me?
If there are 5 colors, and 10 cuts of each color, how would re-jiggering which cuts fell into which color cut off potential combos? This confuses me.

Apr 4th 2012 11:17AM So - saw that right now enchanters have baked in the ability to upgrade enchanting materials (dusts to essences, essences to shards, shards to crystals). What do you think? Good idea / bad idea?
Personally, I like it, as it would normalize the value across all of the mats to some extent.
That said - it appears they're sticking with the "Red gems are for base stats" model for jewelcrafters. How could they identify the issue and correct it for enchanting, while completely missing the boat on the gem cuts (that is, if they made Red the STR gem, Blue the INT gem, and Yellow the AGI gem, or some permutation thereof, it would have normalized the value of gems types, as well as preventing some of the supply/demand disparities we've seen).
Also - likelihood that this all stays in as-is?
Apr 3rd 2012 3:05PM But - isn't Blizz spending a pretty significant amount of resources overhauling this class? Other than MONKS, it doesn't seem like any other class is getting quite as much attention.
Admittedly, I just started fiddling with a warlock (level 23 in the HOUSE!), and haven't been paying attention, but my general impression was they're getting a lot of love in this expansion.
