Jan 21st 2012 6:55PM We all use redundant sayings and pleonasms when we speak. Examples would include "advance planning" "estimated roughly" "free gift" etc. This is, essentially, no different. If it had been in the narration then I think it could be called a mistake, but the fact someone is saying it - the best writers know that speech can actually reads/sound awkward and very unrealistic if always perfect.
Jan 19th 2012 3:50PM I follow most of these folk and love keeping up on dev postings too. Sometimes, as much as I love to hear the big news, seeing the little things - their humor, the unrelated quips or digs at each other - brings a real sense of community. This isn't some show they are putting on, these guys truly love the game, their jobs and interacting with us out here.
But to correct Adam slightly:

But it *did* come out of the blue... forum poster. ;)

Oct 28th 2011 9:46AM Interesting point that you just realized in my own mind - and only noticed some six years later - I don't play melee DPS. Okay, so obviously I've always known that but, thanks to you, I've only just connected the dots (harr harr) as to why: If I'm in there, I want to be hit feel the need to tank.
With the Monk class coming out, that I will most definitely be rolling, I wonder how I will cope with the mechanism of being in the middle but not tanking. This should be very interesting!
My main group of toons for raiding are healers (Pally, Drood, Shammie) and my second group are tanks (Pally, DK, Bear). I also almost always tank dungeons with the exception, obviously, of my shaman, who heals. My DPS toons - all ranged - are for PvP encounters only.

I approve that thinking and if they do that then problem solved. Also I didn't factor in the new BH boss which has an evil RNG of false hope heh. I swear the beasts within drop a tier pieces intentionally about 3 minutes after my 2hr purchase cool-down on my offset has worn off.

Yeah that is a decent distribution. That would make a lot of sense (and totally overlooked the druids having a 4th T set).
Don't get me wrong, I'm not against having the split and I don't want it made 'easier' by lumping all in one - but I'm merely looking at it from the perspective of the current blizz philosophy of more patches/xpacs sooner. RNG has always been a factor, yes, but not to the point that it weighed against never being able to gear up relevant tier gear for the whole raid before the next raid release. I guess the other way to overcome that should they keep it divided up is, say, in the last 4 weeks or so of the current tier to do as they announced yesterday with raids resetting twice per week.

5 token drops required per raider. Which you could get (based on clearing content every time) once a week. So for 10 raiders that would be 10 weeks. That would be for normal. Repeat for heroic.
Total 20 weeks. 20 weeks is close enough to 5 months - I just rounded up.
The game has vastly changed, though, since MC and having made tier gear available from vendors and with their desire to push out patches and expansions more regularly, you could end up where many/most guilds don't even see 4-tier sets unless the make sure that a class from each token (that hasn't got anything in previous weeks) is there to not lose out on a wasted drop. This then goes against the "bring the player not the class" which was never the philosophy of MC or for a long time after.
Oct 27th 2011 11:11AM One question I want to put to the Dev's. With Monks being introduced and tier gear now ONLY dropping from raids (which I approve of) and not being able to use valor, will we see a Tier Token for 'All' vs groups of specific classes?
In 10 man runs, provided you have 1 of each class, there will always be one class no represented. But that is also idealistic and we often have a couple of doubled classes in our 10-man runs. Considering they wanted to promote the whole "bring the player not the class" it would make sense to have a token for all.
If a guild was able to clear a raid (normal first then heroic) every single week from launch it would still take 5 months to gear the entire (10-man) raid. And that is highly unlikely. But with the chance of 'wasted tier drops' with bad RNG you could end up going on for much longer.
