Ol' Grumpy and the return of class-based quests {WoW}

Jan 26th 2012 4:14PM My first toon was a rogue and I LOVED my class quests. They are one of my fondest memories of this game and I thought they really taught you how to play your toon.

As a blood elf rogue, my first quest was to pickpocket a handerchief from the head of the night elves in Ghostlands.

We cut our lockpicking teeth on the ship near the pirates by Ratchet.

And who could forget the poison quest in the Sludge Fen in the Barrens. It was a rite of passage to complete that...you FELT like a rogue when you were done.

Profanity filters, homophobic slurs, and Blizzard's shaky relationship with the LGBT community {WoW}

Jan 25th 2012 1:34PM Well the best of all worlds would be if we could just have guilds without having to advertise gay...that is people just accept people for themselves. Much like if the news would just stop saying The first black president, or the woman candidate...and just call him President Obama without having to preface "black".

I don't buy the adolescent boy arguement either...too many times I have seen and heard 20 and 20+ players throw racial and sexual derogatory terms out both in guild chat and in trade. You can't blame it all on kids...these are people old enough to know better.

I applaud the gay/transexual community for standing up for their rights...

Now if I could only get Blizzard and the WOW community to be less mysoginistic. Basically the game is designed with the adolescent boy/male in mind. While many women in game like to dress provocatively, there are many of us that would prefer a full suit of armor. Not because we want to be like a man, but because we enjoy playing our toons role ( warrior, mage, rogue, etc) without the ludicrousness of almost bare breasted chest plates which certainly isn't remotely effective in battle. And believe it or not, we're not all double D's in size.

While I put up with a certain amount of "good ole boy" mentality...it gets rather old hearing all the women bashing that rears it's ugly head from time to time with frequency.

Jan 9th 2012 12:55PM Loltha-When I made my main...a BE DK, I had no clue what race I wanted to be. I was paging thru various combos when I found the decaying skins...that did it...I went the darkest decayng skin possible with snow white hair and became...DROW!!!! Shades of Drizzt! And a dual wielder to boot! Naturally, I had to name her after the spider Queen Lolth.

JCPennies- my comic relief Goblin sham. Come on! Everybody knows Gobs name their kids after retail!

Dec 24th 2011 7:01PM I'm all FOR the roll bonus on the loot tokens...I'm a frost DK. I dual wield...that means I don't just have to win soul drinker ONCE...I have to roll on it TWICE. The odds are not in my favor. The last group I was in I took a moment to count the rogue, mages and DK's in the 25 man LFR I was in while the leader was setting the run up. 13 people out of 25 were rolling on what I was rolling on. And that's for my MAIN specc, I haven't even collected anything for OS.

If Blizz would change anything at all, I would welcome a shift in shared classes so that the more popular classes balance out with the lesser popular classes on rolls. Having over half the raid rolling on the same loot is no fun. Most people are just trying to gear a main...unless your a member of Paragon...in which case, I hardly think you'd find those people in LFR.
