Aug 17th 2011 10:41AM I miss single target dispelling of friendly targets for hyrbids not in heal spec. It was a nice way to help healers, made me feel less helpless when a bad or busy healer didn't have time to dispel.
Aug 8th 2011 10:38AM I do this all the time on my hunter and several other guild members do too. I usually think these columns give pretty good advice, but not in this case. Your members are doing something in their off time that has zero effect on anyone else in your guild, but you're jealous that they're profiting and you want your cut. Soloing FL trash is very time consuming. Kiting those mobs on your own and staying ahead of those dang dogs without dying isn't easy. You make one small mistake and the last 15 mins of kiting is wasted. Your members deserve the reward if they're skilled and tenacious enough to get in there. Besides, if your members had spent those hours farming something else, say herbs, instead or farming world drops, would you expect them to toss you a kick back? No. That would be silly. Stop trying to be so controlling.
Now, I understand wanting to buy BoEs to support your raiders. So, instead of QQing, what about asking your farming guildies if they'd be willing to sell items they don't need to your guild at a price lower than the going market rate? Then you can accomplish your goal of getting your hands on a few BoEs and they can still be rewarded for their time. Or, better yet, ask them to share their tips and YOU get in there and farm. The trash can be solo'ed by several classes (I've done it on a hunter, dk, & shaman) and duo'ed by nearly every other combination. Instead of acting like some kind of Feudal Lord, get in there and get your virtual hands dirty.
Jul 19th 2011 12:41AM It's lazy if you do it incorrectly, which is what you're suggesting. You also need to maintain evangelism stacks and ES.
Jul 7th 2011 12:30PM I'm not a fan of Xperl either. For unit frames, I have found that Shadowed Unit Frames (sometimes referred to as SUF) are easy to use and have quite a few customization options.
For proc and dot tracking, if you're not a fan of Powerauras, the new update to Tell Me When is fantastic. It's much more use friendly than the older version and very easy to customize.
I'd also suggest grabbing MFclip, a cast bar addon (quartz/gnosis), and something that tracks your internal cooldowns, like Proculas.
May 11th 2011 10:24AM When I first saw the tier bonuses, my immediate thought was one of terror at how complex the 4pc was going to make our rotation. Nothing like taking what is arguably one of the more complex rotations/priorities in the game and making it even more complex. While it's a cool idea in theory, it's going to be a headache in practice. Although, if we don't have a mastery trinket to watch next tier, it may not be so bad - we'd at least lose one comlicated buff we have to track (mastery increased ES).
I guess the fear of the four piece should be countered with elation for the two piece. I wonder if we'll end up scrapping the 4pc for a more balanced set of gear to combat the possibility of tunnel-visioning ourselves out of orb procs and evangelism stacks. Can't wait to start rolling some numbers!
Apr 21st 2011 2:21PM Yes, you can petition for a name to be released by sending an email to Blizzard. A friend of mine recently successfully petitioned for a name to be released and was able to get the name. And, yes, certain names that are copyrighted or religious in nature are against the ToS.
Apr 21st 2011 2:18PM Q for the Q:
At the moment, there is no way to differentiate among multiple shadow priests' shadowy apparitions because of how they're recorded in the combat log. This makes it very difficult to evaluate the current 4pc bonus in a raid environment. It also causes a shadow priest's in game damage meter to record a different value for the priest than everyone else's. Are there any plans to change the way shadowy apparitions are recorded in the combat log?
Apr 15th 2011 4:24PM If you are in a guild where you need to mute/ignore other active members in order to feel safe and to enjoy your guild experience, then you are in the wrong guild and it's time to find a new one. You mentioned that you are raiders. On your next foray to the guild recruitment forums, make sure that in addition to raid times and days, you also specify that you are looking for a mature, female-friendly guild. You will be much more likely to find a guild that is a better fit and one that does not tolerate abusive behavior.
Apr 9th 2011 12:29PM I think the most important thing any guild struggling with raid related morale issues is to make sure the officers are vocal and transparent. Show your team members that you have an action plan to get over whatever hump is holding your team back. If you don't, negative attitudes will fester in private vent channels and whispers, and people will begin to question the guild's stregth and direction.
In a time when morale is low, people need strong leadership. A good leader not only pushes people when things are going well, but also inspires hope when things fall apart.
Mar 29th 2011 12:37PM "It's worthy of note that shadow's contribution to the warlock drops significantly in AoE encounters, as Mind Sear does not proc Dark Intent despite the fact that Mind Flay does."
No self-respecting shadow priest uses mind sear for any boss encounters in this tier outside of maybe Magmaw. You multi-dot, which does proc DI!
