Feb 15th 2008 1:26PM I think there are alot of growing pains with WoW because you got a much larger section of gamers that have much different expectations than former traditional MMO players.
People that played UO/Everquest/AC etc. expect to not see all of the content without raiding, to them it's just part of the game that there are continued challenges and a certain ammount of grind and dedication to get there.
In WoW you have a much larger ammount of casual gamers that have decided to stay with the game because there are lots of changes to traditional MMO mechanics to facilitate this (no exp debt or loss on death, no corpse runs, faster leveling times, no post level 70 character advancement beyond gear). You also have a large crowd of gamers that have come from the Warcraft series and are expecting a full story, and that ability to play at their own pace and see everything.
I guess because I started in the EQ generation of MMOs I don't expect to see anything that I'm not willing to put in the time to do.
