Apr 3rd 2012 4:18PM I think a male NPC that hit on male characters in quest text or a speech bubble would be a fantastic addition to WoW. No, seriously, can you imagine how all of the "Internet Tough Guys" would react? I'd have plenty of popcorn to share, I promise!
Apr 3rd 2012 8:09AM I am not a fan of PvP. It's simply not my preferred method of playing, I suck at it, and I have no desire to get better at it. Not to mention that School of Hard Knocks and the other, lesser PvP-related holiday achievements really soured any hope there would have been of me doing PvP. There was also my one and only foray into Arena, which....yeah, I just plain suck at PvP.
That said, I'm not about to look down on those that DO PvP. They have their fun their way, and more power to them for it. If they let me have my fun my way, then all is well.
Apr 2nd 2012 8:08AM Ever since I upgraded from a crappy 2006 laptop where I was lucky to get 15 fps with everything on low to a $1300 beast that I cap at 40fps on Ultra (it can go over 100 but capping it helps my video card's health), I can most definitely say yes. I absolutely love to just fly around and look at the world now. It's like playing a completely different game!
When I did my first Dragon Soul raid after the transition, my guildies and I made a running gag of what new discovery I would make next. Some of the highlights: Deathwing is actually flying around Wyrmrest Temple and lobbing fireballs at it; Yor'Sahj and Zon'ozz stand in shallow pools of water; it actually rains during Hagara's lightning phase; Deathwing is really really big during the Madness fight; and there's apparently more to the Ultraxion fight than zooming all the way in, staring at the floor, and praying that your framerate doesn't stutter too much. Who knew?
Mar 27th 2012 9:20AM Bah, this is what I get for posting a comment in a rush. Let me try and clarify this point.
I still love WoW. Everything I've seen so far (especially for Hunters) has me squeeing (is that a word?) in delight. The only problem, however, lies on the social side of things. My best friend is jaded by Cataclysm but is slowly warming up to Mists, but we both share a problem: our guild, the one guild where we've both been completely happy with all the people in it--especially the guild leader--is basically packing up for SWTOR. We're running DS two more times so that our Rogue can get Fangs of the Father and then the guild is shutting down for the rest of the expansion, if not for good.
I'm hoping to see something big enough and cool enough that they would come back and we'd experience MoP together, because in my eyes these people have set the bar very high for what a good guild is/can be. I can't afford a server transfer, a faction transfer is out of the question, and though there are other guilds on my side, I'm not sure any of them could come close to what I have right now. And if I don't have people to share the next expansion with, I won't want to play.
I'm also looking forward to seeing if Blizzard throws the Alliance any more bones...or at least ones that pessimists can't turn around and say "that helps the Horde more, GG Bliz!"
Mar 27th 2012 8:04AM I can't wait to find out if I'm still going to playing WoW when Mists launches. As much info as there is coming out about this game, the most important thing for me is "Will I still be playing, or will I be leaving for another MMO pasture?"
Mar 22nd 2012 9:17PM Eh, it's fine. Nothing like a fun back-and-forth, right?
Mar 22nd 2012 8:05AM Were it that I could afford a ticket? Hell yes! Blizzcon at Sea sounds awesome!
Mar 21st 2012 11:15AM Happy 4th Anniversary Alison! You make reading about druids FUN in the same way I find reading Frostheim or BRK ranting and raving about Hunters FUN. Here's to another year of being one of the best bloggers I know of!
Mar 21st 2012 8:06AM Copy over my Hunter (it's my main, after all), then my Priest (to see what the new Mana system is like), then my Shaman (cause she's awesome), and then have a freaking blast while keeping my best friend up to date on whatever he wants to know!
As much as I do want to try rolling a Pandaren, I already know everyone and their grandmother will be doing the same, and dealing with that much lag? Ehhhhhh, I dunno, honestly. I think I'll roll a Gnome Monk instead.
Mar 19th 2012 3:07PM Can't wait to cast Bestial Wrath and negate your Psychic Scream. :D
