WoW Moviewatch: ZA {WoW}

Breakfast Topic: Which race has the best starting zone? {WoW}

Feb 27th 2012 8:45AM My favorite was the blood elf starting zone pre cata when you had to learn to use Mana Tap and Arcane Torrent. It really fit in with the magic addiction lore. I was horrified when I first saw the wretched, and the knowledge that they are blood elves who could not control the addiction.

I liked the old Undead starting area. You woke up after having shaken off the lich kings control. I understand the change with the lore but it's kind of creepy to think that you were raised by a Valkyr.

Personally I don't like the neutered started zones. There is nothing there that can kill you really. I remember about level 3 or so you hit red mobs and not watching where you were going got you killed. Now everything is yellow until you actually attack. There is no sense of danger until you actually leave.

Breakfast Topic: What do you think about the current Raid Finder loot rules? {WoW}

Feb 24th 2012 8:27AM I have run into the phenomena now twice of people needing on items that they already have (and winning) just to try and trade it later to a person who wins another item that they really want. Case in point on my Death Knight I ran Fall of Deathwing LFR. The Backbreaker Spaulders drop and a warrior rolls need and wins them. I happened to be standing right next to him so I noticed he had the spaulders on already. The LFR version to boot. I didn't say anything but I noticed that he inspected my DK who still had blue shoulders on. When we downed Deathwing I happened to win the roll for gurthalak voice of the deeps. Almost immediately I got a whisper from the warrior asking if I wanted to trade.

This is not the first time I have seen this either. On other toons for instance I saw a hunter who won the Agility trinket only to offer it up to trade for the weapon from madness.

Some may say that's smart trading and both parties win, but it's not right that you already have the item and are allowed to need roll again with the role bonus. If no one is willing to trade you just took an item from another player who could actually use the item.

Officers' Quarters: 6 tips for new guilds in the era of perks {WoW}

Feb 13th 2012 2:54PM @Camo

I am aware of the ability to block guild invites. I have it turned on. I should not have to deal with this mess. Blizz isn't banning the addon atm however if enough people report the tell as spam, the sender and user of the addon gets a temporary ban. Also I should not have to install an addon from this author to block his invite addon. I wish Blizz would just break the addon. I am seeing them take a more passive approach and telling the users who get the temp ban to use the ingame methods. Trade Chat, guild recruitment option in game etc.

I put people on ignore and mark a guild name next to them to know who to avoid. Zerg invites and tells are not cool. The fact that Blizzard even implemented the block is a sign to me that this is a problem.

Feb 13th 2012 1:49PM Might I suggest also NOT using an addon to search for and spam people with ginvites. I find it so annoying when I am on alts that I have taken to just reporting those that send the invite. I have a few low lvl toons that I like to play around on that are unguilded and I am not interested in guilding them. I have logged in, and immediately gotten 3 or 4 invite spams and then switch toons only to get them again from the same people. It is extremely annoying. I have sent a tell back asking to have my toon put on the blacklist for the addon only to be spammed the next day by the same person.

Breakfast Topic: What's the best quest zone in the game? {WoW}

That quest line was quite awesome. I have to admit I teared up when I completed it.

Feb 11th 2012 8:50AM Of the redone zones I would have to say WPL. That zone was quite depressing before the change. I still want to know where Koltira is though! That cliffhanger needs to be completed. Going out with Zen'Kiki and watching him moonfire himself or switch into aquatic form and roll around on his back were an amusing change from Andorhal.

Breakfast Topic: What parts of gameplay do you consider a chore? {WoW}

Feb 4th 2012 1:27PM @noyou

leveling is so fast now that you quickly move past the mobs that drop things like linen cloth fast. I have run into this on my baby druid alt. I am still on heavy linen cloth bandages and she's killing creatures that drop wool and silk already. It's a pain to have to go back and kill low lvl creatures for the cloth. There is always the AH but lately the inflated price of everything makes (me anyway) people not want to buy it. 10G for a stack of linen cloth is outrageous. I am going the dungeon route for leveling though, so that might be the difference. I have not run a non dungeon quest since hitting lvl 15.

Feb 4th 2012 8:20AM Fishing. In xpacs past I have just bought the fish I needed for feasts, or for my preferred buff food. Prices are so ridiculous now for certain items that I would rather just fish it up myself. Fishing in wow is akin to watching paint dry for me. I really hate fishing for Lavascale Catfish. No pools to shoot for so you basically just stand in Uldum or Deepholm.
