The Queue: Look at me, Drek'thar {WoW}

Nov 4th 2011 7:05PM I really, REALLY hope the whole Theramore ordeal will make Jaina put down her book and start kicking some serious ass (or teleporting it a mile away- upward). Actually, hope she'll become the leader of the Alliances Pandaria Expedition or whatever it's gonna be named. If there is currently one leader in the Alliance who can fight a war the Alliance way, I'd wager on her. When you actually stop and think about it, she has a surprisingly good resume in warfare, with experience on working both with and against the Horde, a knack for leadership, and experience in settling to new, less than welcoming lands.

Nov 2nd 2011 5:09PM Aye, the Timelord Regalia certainly is magey.

Until someone says the head looks like a chicken.

Can't unsee it now, can ya?

Oct 27th 2011 12:09PM If they implement being able to focus a race, zone or even a part of a continent (North/Mid/South Kalimdor, for instance), I'll be a happy Professor. Having to go dig stuff up in Ashenvale just so I have a chance of opening a Tol'Vir digsite to have a chance of solving a Canopic Jar to have a chance of uncovering that elusive Vial of the Sands recipe is not my idea of fun, even a fun grind. A flight to Feralas, maybe Desolace if I'm feeling patient, I can deal with, but across an entire continent may get on the nerves, even when I'm already using the Hyjal/Uldum portals and 15-minute cooldown hearthstone to Stormwind to hasten the traveling.
And while at it, a tip for all the non-mage Alliance archaeologists: getting around in Eastern Kingdoms gets a lot easier when you figure out to exploit the Horde zeppelins, at least on PvE servers. Free trips from Stranglethorn to Tirisfal and vice versa!

The Queue: Let's guess the Mists of Pandaria release date {WoW}

Oct 25th 2011 1:23PM What I'm personally curious about, is how will glyphs work in MoP. Will they have the same kind of effect as before, with prime=main abilities, major=spec cooldowns etc., minor=misc handy stuff, or if they'll also see a little tweaking? Personally I'd bet on something like prime=spec cooldowns, major=talents, minor=misc handy stuff, with the glyphs perhaps bringing effects of current talents like reactive barrier or shattered barrier instead of their current, sometimes awfully cookie cutter-like effects like the 30% extra damage absorbed by Ice Barrier.

And well, since I brought the glyphs up, might as well mention I hope Blizz manages to save inscription while at it, since the relics are going away, and as far as I can remember 450-525 was all about relics, with the only new glyph being Colossus Smash. Either scribes will have to expand to some other area, make scrolls worthwhile and more diverse, or we're gonna need a thorough overhaul to how glyph making works.

I'd much rather have the minipets be good for SOMETHING rather than just follow me around when I'm slaying the same grues for the fifteenth day in a row for their boogers that daily questgiver needs to make a hair growth potion or something. But then again, that's just me. If you dislike the idea of pet battles, then just stay off the tall grass.

BlizzCon 2011: Blizzard reveals new talent system {WoW}

Oct 22nd 2011 7:23PM The way I see it, this change will make pvp more colorful. Why? Glad you asked, allow me to demonstrate:

Today, you come across a DK of the opposing faction/team/whatnot. From the abilities he's using, you can determine what his talent spec is, and since mogging hasn't yet been implemented, a glance at his gear will also tell tales about him. Since you now know his spec, you know exactly what kind of gimmicks he can throw at you. You can now continue fighting happily, knowing that your paper of a spec beats his rock of a spec. The only real variable in the fight with this DK and any other with similar spec and gear is the individual's skill.

In MoP, you come across a DK of the opposing faction/team/whatnot. From the abilities he's using, you can determine what his talent spec is, but since mogging has been implemented, you can't really tell shite about his gear. Just because you know his spec, you can't lull yourself into a sense of security and think your paper of a spec beats his rock of a spec. No, the slimy bastard may be holding some unusual talent and/or gear choices that either even out the shortcomings of his actual spec or optionally he may have focused on the strong sides of his own spec and you find yourself trying to wrap a big-ass boulder with a few pieces of toilet paper. Not only is gear going to be a variable, but the underlying talents have hundreds of combinations, and making false assumptions may prove costly.

What? It's real creepy when you actually sit still for a minute and just look at it! Haven't used mine for months, but that grin still finds it's way to my nightmares.

The Queue: Bedroom Eyes {WoW}

Oct 1st 2011 5:16PM A day or two ago I joined a semi-guild run on the dungeon finder, and found out the 3 guys in the same guild were in essence faking poor gameplay (from the general feel of them they probably could have f-ed the mobs up in 'bout 10 seconds flat if they wanted to) and getting themselves and me and the other party member constantly killed. Over and over again. Sure, nothing was keeping us from leaving, safe for saving some other poor sod from their sadistic game. So, here's the question: Do you suppose this counts as griefing, or some other behavior Blizzard looks down on?
