Aug 3rd 2011 11:24AM The flight path thing makes me happy. I always wondered why my character had to physically speak with a flight master to learn the path there. I'm paying this taxi service to take me there, I shouldn't need to know anything about the place, that's why it's a taxi. I mean surely they've sent a person there before, or at least met each other at the annual FPcon? Anyways I just always likened it to myself getting into a Taxi in a big city and having the driver say "sorry can't take you there, you haven't been there before." :)
Aug 2nd 2011 11:25AM People seem to be forgetting that the Diablo auction house won't be based off nearly a robust economy like WoW. There are not going to be price floors based of vendor prices on component materials. There won't be thousands of people farming ore and herbs to sell. It will be mostly gear, some gear, and a side section of gear. :) Player competition for pricing is what will keep it a micro-transaction system (I hope).
Jun 30th 2011 1:53AM Living Embers are the ones for the crafting recipes.
Jun 18th 2011 3:29PM Powerful Spellthreads will still be needed as people gear up with new pants, and there is always the 26-slot bag to make for 8 dreamcloth, and if nothing else you can save up your dreamcloth so that when you do get a firelands recipe, you could crank out a couple epics real quick to use or sell.
May 21st 2011 6:32PM Yes still cap out, Cap is 1742 rating. Reforge, gem, and enchant your way there. It will be a pain for now, but mostly because this is still the first tier of equipment for level 85, in later patches ilvl 380-400, or whatever they'll go up to will have much more hit rating natively and it will be much easier to cap out.
May 6th 2011 1:51PM I'd like to see maybe having Starsurge spread insect swarm to all surrounding enemies like a fire mage's impact.
Apr 29th 2011 11:41AM Please read the whole comment before down-voting. I used to hate gearscore too.
You could check out the new Gearscore Addon. I think it's funny that in Wrath, people complained about Gearscore because it only calculated it's number purely off of item level, but now that it does much more, everyone (at least as far as pugging (Emerald Dream-H)) ask for average item level.
The Gearscore addon developers have put in a lot of handy information into it's window and mouse-over information. It shows average item level, how many PvP items are equipped, and if any gear is missing enchants. It also calculates it's "Gearscore" number on a per spec basis, so the new actual gearscore number is a much more informative system than just seeing someone's average item level.
Apr 28th 2011 3:34PM Another handy trick i've used to my advantage from time to time, when buying in bulk from the AH is to leave 2 posts of the undervalued goods in the AH instead of buying all the stock at once. Maybe some other enterprising individual will notice and snap them up, but i've had good luck with the next farmer coming to post and then undercutting those 2 posts i didn't buy, leaving another bulk batch of stock for me to pick up at a even more undervalued price.
Apr 26th 2011 11:53AM After about a year in my guild, plus 6 months or so in the guild most of our core group was in before we broke of to make our own, we had a guild meet up. All in all we managed to get 7 people all in one guildie's house to have a big party. The most hilarious part was that when we were at the bar, we just couldn't get used to using real-life names in conversation. There were constant calls of character names, or nick-names derived from character names often loudly yelled and alcohol induced. We had a great time though and are planning another meet-up in the future.
Apr 26th 2011 11:15AM I would say all tanks can tank all scenarios, they just have a slightly different toolset with different timings required. For example, the DK can death and decay at range to pick up early aggro while he's running over, icy touch, unholy strike, pestilance and blood boils to get diseases spread around. The paladin needs to get into close to melee range before holy wrath, consencrate, hammer of the righteous to get solid aggro, unless he can reliably predict the path of the adds to have them intersect with him (stand between add spawn point and healers). Also, once someone shows particular skill with handling adds in an encounter, chances are they'll be the one doing that week after week for awhile, so it could just be an experience issue.
