Apr 20th 2011 12:49PM There is alot to this game. My question is why is there so much emphasis on raiding and dungeoning? The problem is the rewards for running instances are spread very thin particularly if you are running an instance over and over for a particular drop. It's tiresome and boring. Infact running instances over and over, day in day out, week in week out is boring. Progression rading is boring. I like over coming challenges for sure, but spending a week wiping to the end game boss only to finally win and have half the loot drop for the group is tiresome. The problem with Cataclysm is that the content is harder for sure but the pay off has been reduced.
I understand that hardcore raiders with no jobs and no significant responsibilies don't like casuals. But this segregation of players by playing commitment has really turned me off to the game.
The point of these games (MMO's) is to get people playing together. This expansion has done nothing but further segregate people into smaller groups. That's why people are dropping like flies.
I think that increasing loot drop amount, making existing zones dynamic (making all the mobs OP and give achievement for group coop or helping lower levels through thier now impossible quests in the zone), and tying the events of the world to instances would make the game alot more interesting.
The problem is that we know what we need to beat Nef, we know what we need to Get glory, We know what we need to do alot of thingw in game, and becasue we know it we make a decision whether or not to put in the effort. Often time people don't put that effort because the time cost is to high and the reward is too low.
