The Daily Grind: How should MMOs appeal to both hardcore and casual players? {Massively}

May 7th 2011 11:51AM Wow had the right idea in Wrath of the Lich King, they lost sight of that in Cataclysm; now Rift is the closest option regarding a game that's accessible to all players.

RIFT 'Spoils of War' mini-event kicks off today {Massively}

May 4th 2011 11:38AM As long as they Buff my Bard I'll be happy, kind of sucks being so far behind Cloros and Archons in usefulness. Check out this article on Rift Junkies ( Rifts version of WoW's MMO Champion) showing the dismal state of Bards right now http://www.riftjunkies.com/2011/04/20/bard-mechanics-why-theyre-lame-and-how-to-fix-them/ . On the bright side though at least with RDF's support role option other RDF groups will have no choice but to take Bards over Cloro's and Archons once that Que triggers.

SOE games down until Friday at the earliest, class action suit launched, Anonymous denies involvement [Updated] {Massively}

May 4th 2011 11:29AM @real65rcncom They need to prove negligence of some sort in order to prove that Sony inadvertently caused damages to the plaintiff; that's how civil cases work. Another thing to consider regarding Civil cases, you don't have to prove your case 100% to win damages just anything above 50%; not like a Criminal Case where it is beyond a reasonable doubt.

SOE games down until Friday at the earliest, class action suit launched, Anonymous denies involvement [Updated] {Massively}

May 4th 2011 11:25AM @Quarlo

It's a class action law suit which means all affected people can opt into it once the suit is settled; this is why the damages are so high. For example when my wifes company layed every one of with out warning when they abruptly shut down they violated a law which stated that a company was required to give their employees some advance warning which they didn't. My point is only one former employee filed a multimillion dollar class action lawsuit against the former company with the result being all the former employees are getting checks in the mail this mail averaging about $1,200 each. This guy from Ontario won't be getting all the money, any one that was affected by this breach will be given the opportunity to have a piece of that settlement.

The Tattered Notebook: Free level 90? Heck yeah! {Massively}

May 2nd 2011 11:53PM WTF I tried looking at the F2p info and the sites down; god damn hackers.

The Tattered Notebook: Free level 90? Heck yeah! {Massively}

May 2nd 2011 11:49PM If you already own Sentinels (forgot the other word) but canceled your sub could you go to the F2P server and access the content since you bought all the content previous to Vellous? For that matter what restrictions do you have as a F2P player for example in LotR you have a currency cap, and you have to buy access to the AH. I never got a character past lvl 20, once I left the starting area the mobs were a bit of a pain in the ass to kill; of course I was leveling a Tank as well thinking I would be able to run 5 mans while leveling.

WoW Moviewatch: Nub Tales: WoW vs. RIFT {WoW}

May 2nd 2011 3:22PM I see so arguing with facts that can be backed up while not stating anything directly negative toward Blizzard warrants being grayed out by the censors; no worries though if it becomes to dark I'll just repost it.

Dungeon journal FAQ {WoW}

May 2nd 2011 2:36PM You know this is actually a very nice feature; the only thing that I can think of that would make this thing drive better then a luxury car would be to build a DBM smoothly into this as well as short video clips that would show you the warning signs of said ability and the ability unfolding as well.

None the less if they gave you some leeway when these abilities occur like Rift does so that you have enough time to move out of said fire when it appears that would be even better. The thing that turned me off of WoW and made me cancel my account was the fact that if you see the stuff on the floor unless you had a flawless connection or the reflexes of a 20 year old you were already eating dirt.

If WoW ever brings back that margin for error that made Wrath a great playing experience for me then they can have my wife and I become paying customers again.

WoW Moviewatch: Nub Tales: WoW vs. RIFT {WoW}

May 2nd 2011 2:26PM That was a pretty amusing video though there are definitely quite a few inconsistencies. The Rifts/Rift Invasions them selves (you know about 1/3rd of what makes Rift Rift?) were definitely something that wasn't stolen from WoW. I don't believe the Public Quest Groups that you can join instantaneously whether during and invasion or questing in the same area was something from WoW either. Pretty sure Rift didn't steal the Coinlock function that disables a hacked accounts ability to spend currency, destroy items, or spam channels with gold ads. I'm pretty sure Rift didn't steal the Soul System that adds a hell of a lot of different class combo's then WoW currently does. Rift didn't steal the ability for people PVPing to cat call their opponents through shouts/saying out loud. I'm pretty sure Rift didn't steal their Twitter/Youtube tools for sharing video (high def btw)/achievement info through said tools from WoW.

if I can think of more I'll definitely add it.
