Patch 4.1 PTR: Old Ironforge open for public viewing {WoW}

Apr 26th 2011 10:34AM Hmm, entire content patch centred around Magni awakening and instances/raids behind those big, temporary looking doors? Now that'd get my attention. Always thought Ironfoge deserved more screentime!

Breakfast Topic: When other players become other people {WoW}

Apr 26th 2011 10:13AM My guildies and I have a meet every year - we're now coming up on our third one. The first one was smaller, when we were a 5 man group and the rest of them all knew each other - I was the 'unknown quantity'.

Shortly after that we grew into a very small and tight knit 10 man raiding group combining family members and people we met and liked via random dungeons at the beginning of Wrath (before LFD when you could more easily find/network with cool people on your server).

Last year's meet was very successful and I think the thing that glued us all together over the lean, pre-Cata summer months, and now I'd say that for a tiny guild like ours a meet up at least once a year is not just nice to see good friends but really helps keep us together.

WoW Archivist: World of Warcraft beta patch 0.11 {WoW}

Apr 26th 2011 9:49AM Hm, those patch notes makes the game sound so young - so many basic concepts of the game that we take for granted these days, like falling through the world resulting in a grisly death and the mailbox having CoD confirm options.

The part about need/greed popup and 'pass' traditions explains why as a young end-of-vanilla player I got confused in a Deadmines run with some people who were adamant about passing on loot being the only acceptable ettiquette though.
