The Care and Feeding of Warriors: A week on the patch 4.3 PTR {WoW}

Oct 3rd 2011 3:06AM You all seem to be missing the point both I and sir Rossi are stating. Of course with the new gear and weapons 4.3 will bring, we should be doing better dps than 4.2. If we didn't then that's one hell of a nerf they're smacking us with. My problem is how we scale with gear. In the peak of progression raiding with the guild I'm in, we're barely into heroic Firelands. I don't see where they're coming from when they said fury dps is high cause I'm about middle of the pack compared to the rest of the raid, which isn't bad but isn't OP as it seems Ghostcrawler implies with his statement. Now a fully heroic-geared out fury warrior may as well be getting top of the charts which is the cause for their belief of Fury being too high on damage, but how is that gonna affect us that don't progress as fast? Nerfing us only, then "bringing all of melee up" is making me weary cause overall, it's just a nerf that will yes, increase our damage better than 4.2, but sounds like not by much to us non-BiS geared Fury warriors.

But, the main thing to look out for I guess is to see by how much they're lowering our damage for *before* they buff us with the rest of melee for the sake of "balance". Cause nerfing a lot, then buffing a bit is still gonna hurt us regardless.

As for buff clipping, it's better than nothing. And it's still far better being buff clipped than it is being Fury with this bonus, that can't be denied. For us it's a chance to proc on a move that isn't available 100% of the time and not high in our rotation priority. For SMF at least. All it will be is a minor inconvenience for Arms since the priority/rotation might slightly change depending if the CS buff is already active. And the clipping won't mean you'll be doing *less* dps....just not as much if it didn't clip. So it's still a large increase of CS up-time, therefore more damage, more so than either Fury spec no matter how you see it.

Oct 2nd 2011 4:23AM Taken from the Dev Watercooler: Ghostcrawler on balance in patch 4.3, which is coincidentally linked on this page since sir Rossi also touched on the subject:

"Off the top of my head, I'd say Fury warrior damage is almost certainly too high..."

He made this statement before he even started talking about melee damage as a whole, leading us to believe that aside from everyone else, the small little buffs we're getting to our moves and bonuses....we fury warriors are still going to get a nerf as a whole!

So again, if they do decide to lower our damage overall (again aside from the Enrage buff, or anything else that follows since they haven't scratched the surface of reworking our spec), I hope they change the 4 piece affecting Raging Blow to Bloodthirst instead. It's the only thing that may help just a tiny bit to the impending nerf.

And it's oh so much better of a bonus for arms rather than fury. I'm even considering switching specs.

Oct 1st 2011 9:29PM I hope they change the 4 piece dps bonus from Raging Blow to Bloodthirst for fury. Then it will actually be useful for us SMF speced warriors.

And before anyone cries "it will be too OP if the change it to Bloodthirst!" or "that will make fury warrior's dps too high!" remember, we're gonna get nerfed cause we do too much already as per the blue post.

If they're gonna nerf our damage, at least give us a decent tier bonus.

Aug 5th 2011 11:34AM There is a way to remove completely the default WoW raid frames pull-out tab thingy. I found a macro that works pretty well for me:

May 4th 2011 5:44PM Well, a solution would be start merging realms. Is it really necessary to have so many, especially with the amount of low pop, one faction-sided realms up and running to maintain? Of course this doesn't come without consequence of cost and labor to do so but it's "a" solution, not necessarily a great one. :D

And what someone else had mention, make it possible to form groups through real-id.

I think WoW would be much more interesting if it was all one huge server. Though I know full well that's not technologically possible at the moment, it would definitely give it a more unique, worldly feel. Maybe in the near future...
