You must read the description, grasshopper!

Mists of Pandaria: Monk talents revealed {WoW}

Mar 24th 2012 4:28PM The level 75 talents look interesting for PvP.

Ultimate "oh shi-" button.
Cyclone plus knockback.
Bubble: The Revenge.

Breakfast Topic: What do you do while you're doing archaeology? {WoW}

Feb 15th 2012 9:00AM This question's the wrong way around. Archaeology is what I do while I wait for the arena queue to pop. I used to alt-tab or read books in the meantime, but I'd never get properly focused on a novel or I'd get jerked back to reality by two guys screaming at me to accept before they have to play double DPS no healer. Archaeology is moving wallpaper, and I'd never for one minute do it for its own sake. The relics and (at the start of the xpac) usable epics are a nice bonus.

Breakfast Topic: What role do you play in your guild? {WoW}

Feb 7th 2012 8:21AM My role: token Englishman in a guild of Swedes and Norwegians. My responsibilities include being cynical in guild chat, never dropping out of a southern accent while on Vent, and occasionally expressing disbelief at whole cured sheep's heads for Christmas and suchlike. Occasionally I dial the eccentricity to 'Lord John Marbury' levels of unrealistic Englishness if I am bored and/or wish to troll the guildchat.

How to kill a flag carrier {WoW}

Feb 2nd 2012 2:30PM Good article, but isn't it predicated on the idea that you find a FC alone? Surely the best piece of advice is to always bring a buddy (preferably an entire posse) when you hunt for the enemy FC, declare their position when they are found and ask for backup if your own defence can spare it.

Breakfast Topic: Do you put WoW on display? {WoW}

Jan 31st 2012 9:03AM I started playing shortly before I went to college; I kept it secret for fear of the attached stigma - I thought I would be a social pariah if people knew. Still, I enjoyed the game massively, and the people that looked down on gaming grated with me in all sorts of other ways. Out of the good friends I made, none of them cared that I gamed, and some of them even turned out to play (or spend as much time as I did on WoW on steam games etc). In the end I realised that the kinds of people that instinctively slam WoW (or gaming generally) aren't worth mollifying. Nowadays, if it comes up I'll happily talk about WoW, and haters gonna hate.

Breakfast Topic: What's the worst trash pull in the game? {WoW}

Jan 29th 2012 9:23AM No hate for Mimiron's trash? Hallway after hallway of intense mobs followed by God-damn FIREFIGHTER.

Ulduar in general had some evil trash. Ignis' fire-whirlwind mobs usually claimed at least three unwary souls for the first month of that patch.

How to carry the flag in Warsong Gulch {WoW}

Jan 26th 2012 5:11PM I've run as FC a lot this expansion as a Holy Paladin, usually with my DK and Warrior 3s mates. Back while you had two abilities that popped Speed of Light, HPs were slippery as eels, especially with HoF on top of cleanse. Excellent self-healing capacity plus this slipperiness means you can usually make it through about 2-3 average PUG players back to your team if you come under attack, more if you LoH and pop everything you have to stay up. With a Hpaladin FC the emphasis becomes on teammates peeling/cleansing so that your "sprint" puts you so far ahead of pursuers that you make it home. Once there, you might want to pass it to defend until your team recaps, but Hpalas are great carriers for the A to B of getting the flag to your base.

How to carry the flag in Warsong Gulch {WoW}

Jan 26th 2012 3:27PM I'm surprised there's no mention of classes that should take the flag. If you are a clothie/squishie and there's a tank-spec plate character, (or even a holy paladin) around, pass the parcel like you're 5 and it's someone's birthday.

Breakfast Topic: How do you transition in and out of playing WoW? {WoW}

Nov 3rd 2011 9:32AM Through the latter end of tBC and Wrath I ran a really patchwork raid schedule because of my dissertation. The evolving Wrath model really worked for me insofar as I could grind HCs etc to gear up to minimum spec for raids, so even though I effectively skipped TotC entirely I could come back for ICC without too much trouble. I always let the GMs know I was likely to take the breaks, and never committed to raid for less than three months, always doing my return by the book (re-trial status in guild) and giving them 14 days' notice on the breaks I was taking. Downed everything except Algalon, damn Firefighter.
