World of Warcraft's mad cow against the naked orcs {Massively}

Dec 17th 2010 4:52PM Love GBTV and wish I was there. OMG videocasts that are based on opinions??? They are hilarious and entertaining, exactly what games should be about.

But yeah, there was clearly a Paladin kiting the NPC around for a while but who cares, it was still fun to watch and must have been even better in game.

The Daily Grind: Would you play a Halo MMO? {Massively}

Sep 16th 2010 8:24AM Again you're assuming that not FPS = auto-targeting. You can do the targeting and combat more like Age of Conan or Spellborn. All I'm saying is that for it to be a successful MMO some things would probably need to be changed so that it appeals to more than the FPS audience.

The Daily Grind: Would you play a Halo MMO? {Massively}

Sep 15th 2010 8:42AM One assumption here is that Halo as an MMO would still be FPS. That doesn't have to be the case, not a big fan of console games or FPS, I am fascinated by the world they created and do watch my kids play it. The can take that world and it's characters and use more traditional MMO mechanics but tell a very compelling story. That could widen the audience and get it on to the PC platform as an MMO. It would still need to be fast-paced combat and all but it doesn't have to remain FPS.

The Daily Grind: What content will you never do again? {Massively}

Sep 2nd 2010 12:22PM C'mon on now. We're games and geeks. Who wasn't going to catch that reference. When I was a kid I watched that movie so many times I wore out the VHS cassette. Oh the days of being young and carefree.

Vindictus teases build-a-golem mechanic {Massively}

Sep 1st 2010 9:34AM It does look awesome but the sting of Allods' mismanagement dampens my expectations and makes me want to stick to AAA titles that are now offering F2P instead. I suppose it can't hurt to try it but I won't be wasting time in BETA to find out the CS is going to screw me over after launch.

Chronicles of Spellborn servers have one last hurrah {Massively}

Aug 17th 2010 10:06PM EVE stands apart for several reasons, including that it's sci-fi PVP. Now look at the fantasy MMOs that came out and tried something very different in the past couple of years, and I don't think a single one is still live. Afterward, you see people saying, "Oh was great game too bad more people didn't play..."

IMO people don't want more WOW exactly, but they want something awful close. It's sad and chilling truth from where I sit.

Aug 17th 2010 7:43PM P.S. and an nice set of classes to play through because hopefully, the game is fun enough to roll more than one.

Aug 17th 2010 7:41PM Not being cruel, but this is what happens when gamers insist on saying they want innovation. I don't think they really do. If we look at the few MMO titles that have really stepped outside the box, they've all closed their doors due to insufficient subscribers. Food for thought.

I want fun, entertainment, good graphics, quest diversity, decent crafting, some level of PVP and interesting back-story, none of which necessitates innovation.

Massively takes its turn with Atlantica Online's new patch {Massively}

Aug 16th 2010 7:22PM I like the ability to assign chores to your team members which sounds fun as does the ability to craft and cook. I too think it looks rather odd given the game-world images I've seen. Perhaps they'll include decorating items (wall and floor coverings) that will let people be creative with the interiors in such a way as to make them feel more period appropriate if so desired.

Aug 11th 2010 1:40PM Sign me up for WAR F2P if I can reclaim my original character parked at level 35. More than happy to throw some coins in a cash shop when I'm actually playing.
