Breakfast Topic: Have you ever seen anyone RP a peon? {WoW}

Oct 11th 2011 4:54PM Silvermoon isn't a ghost town on WrA, its quite active to be honest. And yes Thokk is a very active Orc RPing as a Peon, hes incredibly consistent.

Tuesday Morning Post: Choosing sides edition {WoW}

Jul 12th 2011 5:47AM Stiff competition with the Belf and Dwarf (Legolas and Gimli complex) besties in the Eastern Plaugelands.

I believe they show up for the new dailies and interact then as well.

Still, Tholo and Anren made me smile. That sort of friendship is really excised from games and society as it implies 'gayness,' which is still a touchy subject with mass media and censors alike. Platonic, same sex close friendship is a very nice thing to see again in a game.

Blizzard explains, apologizes for PVP Season 10 gear debacle {WoW}

Jul 7th 2011 7:47PM Last week it was Season 9 that was downgraded to be purchased with honour. This week, they basically did a Ctrl C on the gear, its named exactly the same, it looks the same. The only difference is its called Season 10 and comes with slightly better stats. Someone on the main forums did an excellent post calculating the total stat gain. Its not huge, but its enough to give people a competitive edge.

The Season 10 HP gear can be found from the same vendor directly after the S9 HP gear.

Blizzard explains, apologizes for PVP Season 10 gear debacle {WoW}

Jul 7th 2011 7:41PM I didn't start PvP-ing untill a month before Season's end, this meant that I had very few Season 9 pieces purchased with Conquest. I saved up 4000 honour and 4000 JP before 4.2 dropped and used it to get my PvE and PvP gear I didn't have yet. I was still left with 5 pieces of Season Nine to get. Ground out the BG's till I had it all, started gemming and enchanting and then Season 10 dropped.

I'm not fussed that there's now a new set I can upgrade to, but if Blizzard had communicated their changes correctly, I could have spent the gap between Season's 9 and 10 saving up another 4K HP and JP.

I don't feel cheated, I don't blame a whole company for what is most likely someone not reading a single line of a memo. But I do, like many others, feel that my week was kind of wasted. And that makes me a little sad.

WoW goes free-to-play through level 20 {WoW}

Jun 28th 2011 10:47PM Putting your desire that I was deceased aside, lets examine something shall we?

You've been playing since the original beta, your attitude, while it stinks, also shows clear evidence of entitlement. You see it all the time in retail, people show up, decide that they are the only human being there and proceed to treat everyone else like crap. Are you owed anything because you started in the original beta? Of course not. You have been paying your fee, and Blizzard have been delivering the service you paid for. End of Transaction.

I frequently roll new Paladins and run through the Dungeons up till lvl 60. I have a hefty amount of /say macros to stimulate discussion as we faceroll the nerfed vanilla's. I meet a heck of a lot of new people, and I teach them how to play their class. I show them how to behave in parties, I am polite and engaging.

Their response? They learn, they do better, and in the end they become valuable members of the WoW community.

I would take one of them over a hundred people like you in a heartbeat.

Blizzard would too.

What is the single most frequent complaint on any forum discussing this game? Do you know?

"The WoW community and playerbase is the most disgusting thing in the game."

If that is what is causing a large portion of Account Cancellations, and I would wager it is, although the people cancelling are not going to announce it to the world, then Blizzards obvious response is to bring out the Baygon, and kill the bugs.

An influx of new players could be the most beneficial thing to happen to this game since Sparkle Pony (whom I love).

Jun 28th 2011 9:00PM Is a term like that really necessary? Not only are you dishonouring the memories of people who were dragged into a cult, but you are also being quite rude.

I understand that you are using a euphemism for 'sheep' used in the sense that people who think that Blizzard and World of Warcraft are doing well are 'followers' refusing to study the evidence and just going along with the 'party line.'

However, you have given no evidence as to why this is a further indication that Expansion number 3 has hurt the WoW Franchise in any way.

Personally, whenever I see someone like you, I can only conclude that you have a persecution complex from being so 'enlightened'. Are you hoping for WoW to fail, so you can be one of the 'few' who are playing the 'dying game' which then makes you cool in your zany reverse subculture?

You know what, I have no clue, but I do know that you're quite rude and I don't appreciate it.

Jun 28th 2011 8:30PM You realise that not even the Cataclysm could bring those two capitals out from behind their loading screens right? Silvermoon and Eastern Plaguelands are like two different universes. Have a look at Silvermoon somtime, in fact, check out that whole area, its HUGE. I'd rate it as bigger than Stormwind (After walking through both for an age and a half.)

If you ever played Halo, theres a bunch of opportunities for you to go running off the scripted path. What do you find? Cardboard cutouts of trees. These two area's are like that, everything we don't see, doesn't exist. Not only that, but it doesn't exist in a completely different way to how the Old World didn't exist.

Its unfortunate they didn't put the coding in to fly there when they did the rest of BC I feel.

WoW goes free-to-play through level 20 {WoW}

Jun 28th 2011 7:57PM It could be the prohibitive cost of getting started in this game. There is a culture nowadays amongst gamers that you pirate a game, try it out, and then you'll buy it if its good. (Or you'll never buy it, either way.)

With a game like WoW you have to lay down about $120.00 or more just to get started (because it really is silly to spend money on a game and be limited to 6 year old content.)

This way, people can try it out, decide if they like it and then commit to paying to play. To me it feels more like an effort to stabilize subscriber numbers (remember, subscriber means exactly that, it counts people paying, not playing.) Rather than having people pay, log on, hate the game and run away, this gives the opportunity to build a playerbase who know what to expect before they sign up,

Breakfast Topic: Patch 4.2 is upon us {WoW}

Jun 28th 2011 10:48AM On patch days the servers usually come up for me at 4-5am. Which isn't too bad considering they cut me off at 8am this evening.
