Drama Mamas: When "just friends" intrudes on love {WoW}

Nov 18th 2011 10:47AM 4 years. Sounds like a reasonably committed relationship to me, but what are the terms of that relationship? Is it "friends with benefits" or something more? If it is something more, the relationship is in a "Test" and it is time to sit down and talk turkey, or kids, or..... The fact that parents are not having problems my be indicating that they have no problems with their daughter looking else where? There is a lot not known here, but if this is a 4 year relationship that has survived between high school sweet hearts because it has not been tested, or the 2 people involved have not decided to value it enough to have some talks..........and have been living a "convienient relating" sort of relationship?

Encrypted Text: Rogue news from BlizzCon 2011 {WoW}

Oct 29th 2011 10:40AM I may as well reroll. I get kicked routinely from dungeons and raids anymore, BEFORE THEY (No chance at "We") EVEN PULL! I am a casual who just wants to have some fun. I know my class but it seems like everybody is "Bye not enough utility, and you don't DPS high enough to compensate, we get a Kitty/ DK in your place" Those cool legendaries? Yeah right the only Rogues who are gonna get those are guild masters or the guild masters butt buddy.........

I took Rogue because it was a fairly simple to learn class, I liked the one dimensionality of the Min/Max since RL just plain takes up serious amounts of my time. Maybe 4-6 hours a week is all I got and that includes research into the class. I did not mind the research, and these talent "Trees" have been pared down to where they may as well be flowers in a vase. Lovely little flowery straitjacket plus not being able to get in to instances is starting to look real bad.......

Heck maybe it is time to move on, and cancel the subscription.

Officers' Quarters: Prodigal raiders {WoW}

Aug 5th 2011 6:33AM Definitely talk to the other GM. I have a sneaky susspicion the moment these two get the staff epic they will leave again. The reason they came back to the guild is the competition factor, where can he get the shiny first. Take the "shiny" off the board. Do they want to be guild members regardless, having learned about possibly greener pastures? If they are not really returning to a group for the group's sake but just looking to "strap on a guild to use to win the epic" and just be gone again you may be better off sticking with a recruited mage and other class...........

Officers' Quarters: The strategy behind casual motivation {WoW}

Jun 28th 2011 7:34AM Give it up. Obviously no one wants it because they are not willing to work at it. Start alt raiding or picking up/ test running pugs to fill out team 2. It might be a good idea to explain why you have the gear minimums and where to find the stuff to help get you up to snuff.

Definitions here to consider. Casual = ? relaxed, unscheduled, fun, no need for rules or "Just Do It!" type stressers........ If they understand that they are not going to have fun if they are constantly wiping due to being under geared that might change things.

I like the Class Coach concept too. I remember several high level rogues setting in the levelling zones they would say stuff in passing like. "Most Raiders work Combat tree", or after having watched me down a Mob. "Put the slow knife in the main hand, fast one in the left, you'll kill it faster". Those dropped hints told me there was more to the game and building your toon than met the eye..........

Face it most "Casual" raiders have either slid back from the hardcore min/max'ers who will change and level a profession for that extra half% of oomph, or they are the read the EJ's while on coffee break at work crowd.

What you have, and are trying to put into a raid, are casual players. When they have some free time they go play WoW as their preferred recreation some where are the "Kalgon take me away" level. They are not all that interesteds in "Shaken not Stirred" and such complications. Fine keep them in the guild- their casual bashing about the world helps keep the bank stocked for raiders, and is good for guild exp. Fair enough, they have a guild name so do not get spammed by the "Joinme's" and have a place to stash stuff temporarily when the bags fill up...... They will appreciate stuff like which glyphs are most helpful and maybe some hints about speccs- but the gemming and enchanting, com'awn they do not have gear with the sockets or the GP to purchase the mats............if they knew what enchant was the best.

Class Coaches would probably help them see the light or understand why they are not going on a raid until they meet standards. They can take whatever time they take, but until they clear the minimums they can't go since it affects everyone else's ability to do the deed........

Breakfast Topic: Where do you put all of those pets? {WoW}

Jun 17th 2011 8:38AM I found myself a nice box canyon and everything stays in there. There is a nice high metal cage dome so the flyers can fly. A dwarf engineer budy and i came up with the concept- I watched his back while we gathered the mats. for it.............

Ready Check: Who pays for raiding supplies? {WoW}

Jun 3rd 2011 10:36AM Hmm, something to remember- dodge lowers rage generation right? If you have a tank running out of rage for threat generation.............

Encrypted Text: Rogues need to be number one {WoW}

Jun 3rd 2011 10:15AM I always looked at Rogues as the balancers of the Priests for DPS. The priests are busy healing, the rogue much prfers to stab things.........

The 3 main reasons I see to bring a rogue on raid really were massive dps, and Aggro assist for the tank, and maybe some additional CC. These things have been getting eroded with about the only thing remaining being the Aggro assist on the tank..........

That may not be enough for most guilds/PUGs to bring a rogue. I am working up a Druid (Feral) and might give DK a try again, but I have found the DK extremely anti intutive/ obtuse to my play.

If either of those alternatives do not work- I may decide to move on after 5 years.

Encrypted Text: Breaking down tier 12 {WoW}

May 25th 2011 4:50AM I am not levelled all the way yet, but in Achinduin I could help a lot with keeping the shadowcasters and healers locked up when clearing mobs. That is one thing you can pint out to a raid-damage mitigation with your CC. If they make a run without you and the heallers start going OOM sooner, and mobs start lasting even longer this would be a point to make.

I do not not if that would show up on the world of logs stuff or not?

Encrypted Text: Breaking down tier 12 {WoW}

May 21st 2011 6:10AM You know, for Rogues being stealthy and sneaky and blending in and all, they sure have armor that is fancy. Considering that a large chunk of rogues armor comes from agility, I would expect them to not need great hunks of........stuff hanging off them.

Some thing more like Aragorn as opposed to a Gondorian plate rattler. Swashbuckler and musketteer......... Great hunks of boiled leather hanging over the shoulders sculpted in..........whatever fashion. Something like a nice jerkin and cape, with a pull up hood with shifting flame effect to help blend with the firelands-scape would be cool. then some nice cinder/ pumice field colored trousers kind of motley for more blending.

I alway pictured Rogues as looking pretty benign until one decided he wanted you dead. The rogue would MOVE toward you, then your last memories are looking up at him soaked in your blood as you fade out..............(sometime you would see a strange face soaked in your blood, one of the subtle ones....)

Breakfast Topic: Does WoW ever creep you out? {WoW}

May 20th 2011 6:50AM Contantly. Darkshore and Ashenvale have plants that look perfectly benign one way, but at certain angles..........

Most of the rest of the stuff I can take in stride, but it is the "corner of the eye nasty" in the scenery that gets me.

Silthids do take some getting used too, they are my least favorite mob......
