Apr 4th 2012 3:54PM "I See Only Darkness Before Me". While we take this to face value in that Arthas is saying I'm dying, allow me to spin it in another direction. The Darkness that Arthas sees is his soul going dormant and leaving his body into the Helm of Domination. Arhtas's "darkness" is not that the flame of his life is vanishing, but that there is no rest for it. Arthas sees that he will not rest in peace and that he will only continue to do evil thus darkness is the path that he is destined to walk.
I belive that Nez'hul is gone. Arthas destoyed the essence of the Orc that remain in the Lich King but all the power that he once wielded remains thus he was once a shaman. Bolvar goes to sleep cause he does not have the power to be active and control the scourge, even with him sleeping we can assume that he can only influence those undead in Northren. Athas's darkness will eventually take over Bolvar and once again Arthas becomes the Lich King.
As far as Matthias Lenher we can consider that the act of Arthas killing his inner child was more in the lines of him expelling his humanity. It, in turn took on a human forn. I can't agree that the Lich King was being manipulated by the old god Yogg, I think it was more of a fear that the power of the Lich King was capable of contionous growth that the only way for the old gods to maintain power was for them to influense US into killing him.
Frostmore and the souls trap with in are a bit harder to rationalize. If we take it as the souls CAN communicate with us and that those were really Therenas and Uther who spoke to us than we can also say that the soul of Arthas was reclaim at that moment only for him to see that he will continue to live and walk the path of darkness. If we take that those were not Therenas and Uther who spoke to us, but just the will of the Lich King taunting us, then why do we see Therenas taliking to Arthas when the Ashen Veridict commence the assault on ICC in the 3.3 trailer.
As far as Sylvanas and the Val'nyr, I think that Sylvanas does possess a part of Arthas's soul and that in a way she always has had it. This would explain why she took the Forsaken despite the fact that they are alll Humans and she setteled on Lordaron instead of attemting to go back to her people. With this said Arthas soul in Sylvanas would only have been and influence and she was still a master of her own destiny, That is of course until the Valk'nyr show and bring her to life. With Sylvanas relaing more and more in them, they are able to awaken more and more of the part of Arthas that lives in her, and her recent fall to darkness is mearly Arthas darkness continuing on.
The Lich King and Arthas both as two separate chatacters and as a single entilty is one of the most compelling lore in Warcraft and Blizzard can still do so much more with it even if WoW ever comes to an end. The reason that Blizzard did not say anything about what happened to the Lcich King and Arthas is because they don't want to close a door that has so many possibilties.
Mar 31st 2012 11:48AM Once upon a time, the SPOREBAT king of Stormwind, Varian Wrynn, was sailing on his ship, the Pride of SPOREBAT, when suddenly an orcish warship came out of the fog! "Battle stations!" the king ordered. "We will not let them take the SPOREBAT SPOREBAT!" Two troll hunters fired arrows at Varian, narrowly missing his SPOREBAT. "By SPOREBAT's ghost! That was close," Varian SPOREBAT.
Garrosh Hellscream, warchief of the Horde, ran out onto the deck of his ship, the SPOREBAT's SPOREBAT. "Varian, you cowardly SPOREBAT! Come face me, and feel the might of my Mag'har SPOREBAT!" Garrosh lunged forward and, with the grace of a SPOREBAT, landed on Varian's ship. The two fought until the SPOREBAT was SPOREBAT with SPOREBAT.
Suddenly, Chen Stormstout appeared in a puff of SPOREBAT. "Stop this at once! Your battle has cut off shipments of the ingredients to my prized new ale, SPOREBAT SPOREBAT SPOREBAT Stout! If this continues, we will never have enough for Brewfest!" Varian and Garrosh looked at each other's SPOREBAT faces and agreed that this fighting was pointless. "Garrosh, what do you say we let bygones be bygones and have SPOREBAT drinks together at Brewfest?" "A true warchief partners with SPOREBAT!"
Mar 30th 2012 9:02PM I wonder what is the criteria the are going in for the order of invites? (if there is any). i been playing for 5 yrs with only a six months break while I was in Iraq and had no internet connection, have been register for the beta since before cataclysm (I did get into the cata beta) and bought the pass as soon as it was announced. I really hope i get in the beta soon but if they keep doing the 10% a day I won't have to wait long even if I end up the last wave.
Mar 30th 2012 2:19PM The first time i saw this in trade chat, was while playing on an alt on a server I don't frequent. I though they said Cheerios and though the were taking about cereal. After re-reading it I saw that it said Cheevos I was completely confused by what they were taking about. After a while I looked it up and found out that they were refering to Achivements and though to myself "That is the stupidest abbreviation I have ever heard".
Mar 30th 2012 10:19AM I have always hated the word Toon used in the context of my characters. I always refer to them as Characters but most of the time I just refere to them by their given name. The word Toon just doesn't feel right with me, is makes them feel so distance and alinates me from connecting with them. Character is my prefer general term, their class is sometimes used when i'm speaking about a certain group of alts (i think i'm nearing 30 by now), but their names is what feels more "right" to me.

I think refering to Death Knights as "Knights" to be a really weird thing. I feels like you are taking something very essencial to them when you remove the word Death. I would not like anyone to ever refer to my Death Knight as just a simple "Knight", it feels like their awesomeness it being riped from them and turning them into something plain. By that standard I have no problem with the shortening DK since it keeps the essence somehow for me.
Mar 30th 2012 9:59AM Great article really fun to read. I can just imagine Christian Belt speaking as the attourny for Blizzard (them mages).
Mr. McCurly you have just overpass Mr. Rossi for awesomeness in an article with lore references.
Mr. Rossi you may redeem yourself by writing a KYL about my favorite NE Kur'talos Ravencrest
Mar 29th 2012 6:28PM Frost according to WoWhead Intimidation is still in the game as a lvl 20 BM only move.
Mar 27th 2012 10:33PM The more and more info that comes about from pet battles, the more clear it becomes that is Pokemon. Now having said that I don't think is a bad thing, I love Pokemon have layed every single one of the main series and enjoy them all, but I do wish there was something that they add that would make it a WoW original and not jus the mirror copy of pokemon that it currently is.
Pet Battle Clases = Pokemon Types
Beast = Normal
Critter = Bug
Dragon = Dragon
Elemental = Electric/Fire/Grass etc.
Flying = Flying
Humanoid = Fighting
Mystical = Psychic
Mechanical = Steel
Undead = Ghost
Water = Water
Bring on the Pokemon there better be a Pikachu somewhere cause you know you want to have Pikachu following you around.
Mar 23rd 2012 12:52PM I can say that not everyone who bought the pass day one got in the first wave, as I was one that bought in the second it was announced. A lot of people that bought the pass expected access on day one cause of the way the annual pass was presented and hw the wording was phrased. Is it wrong of them to have expected it? No! They mearly when by what was said and most of these people had never had access to a Beta testing before.
I had the opportunity to get into the Cataclysm Beta as I had opt-in and bought the Annual pass so I would be garanted access into mist, however I also did not expect day one entrance only cause of my previous beata invite which came after 3 or weeks into beta and after dozens of fake beta emails.
Don't belittle peoples intelligence if they though they would get day one access, they only beive in what they were told with the limited knowledge they had.
