Mar 23rd 2012 1:08PM Many of the people complaining here and elsewhere about lack of beta access need to go sit down, take a deep breath, and think about what you are saying.
The longer this goes on the more shrill and illogical the arguments get. I saw a call for a class action lawsuit on the official forums. A class action suit against a game that doesn't yet exist for a "product" that was never actually bought. Imagine the lawyers on that one. "Well you see your Honor at some point in the future an item my client didn't pay money for will cause them no harm." Good luck there.
If you are still having trouble getting over this do what I do. Take a second and listen for incoming gunshots, mortar rounds, or bomb explosions. Don't hear any? Well its a good day then and anything other than getting shot at is a self-made problem.

Press gamers are sure to get the content out to the masses, where as "regular" gamers are just going to play for a minute and throw their hands up in the air at the bugs and incomplete content. So do the business analysis and figure would Blizz like well written articles showcasing new content; or forum posts full of "Thz new gmae sukz!!!1!!ONE!"

Mar 21st 2012 2:05PM So Combat Rogue is the melee Arcane mage...Hmmm I might have to try a melee character with a two and a half button rotation. It sure will help me pay attention to NHL Playoffs in a month.
Mar 16th 2012 2:02PM Why is it now days Beta seems to equal v1.0 Demo? Beta used to actually mean something and now its just the way to get demos out without shareware. Some of my fondest memories was swapping floppies with my friends to try new games.
Mar 8th 2012 8:43PM My noob moment was on my first ever toon. I made him a Human Hunter. Pre-Cataclysm. I had to travel to IF to learn how to shoot and buy a vendor gun from the Dwarfs. I then ran into the Dwarf starting area and began shooting Ice Trolls like crazy. I'd get one shot off and then have to kill them with the grey sword I found for my warrior. The best bonus was another guy looks at me and /says "Where did you get a gun!". I actually made him an engineer to make guns since the vendors guns were crap. Ahhh those were the days...
Mar 7th 2012 4:56PM "Origin itself is a mess, buggy, crappy (last I heard, it doesn't even autopatch game files for you) and likes to spy on your hard drive, and see what you have installed (Steam also profiles the software on your computer, but it states this clearly, and you can opt-out.)"
I have never gotten any game I bought on Steam to work for more than 2 weeks. When I call customer service I get told its the developers fault, when I call the developer, I'm told it's Steam's fault. The result? Unless I hacked around in my registry games wouldn't work. Which, by the way, violates Steam's ToS and can cause you to not be able to access all of the games you bought.
Valve had a monopoly on the slimy DRM business long before Orgin was even a concept. Steam has just had more time and experience to make their slimy experience seem more palatable by constantly having "sales" for games you may not be able to play from the word go.
My point here is if you are going to hate on DRM ridden downloadable games, at least know where the business model came from.
Mar 6th 2012 10:20PM The, "Stop the QQ" comments are old and tired. The truth is if I have played the game long enough to qualify for the Annual Pass, I more than likely know how to play most classes at least passably. Now we have 90 levels to bring new toons up through and the fact is that's a ton of investment to give up if I want to try a different server and faction without spending $55. Blizz said they were working on ways to get people closer to the end game and I hope this is not the end of that brainstorm. A boost for people who have max level toons to the previous expansion's max level would not be unreasonable. Especially after most of us already have four max level toons and questing content, while fairly quick, is still stale. When I can recite quest text to my wife while she is doing a quest I am not on, I think I've done the questing game enough.
