Apr 3rd 2012 5:43PM I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. I'm female and have played wow for about 6 years. I wouldn't have thought to play a male character because I'm not male. I'm not saying harassment doesn't exist...out of 10 million subscribers the odds are good that you'll encounter a few but I have never once been harassed or teased for being a girl, never had crappy DPS blamed on my gender, and never been offended at the way gear looks on the characters. I have always participated in vent and over the years, nobody has ever batted an eyelash at finding out I'm a girl. If you act like it's a big deal, they will make it a big deal.
Seriously...I played with barbies growing up. I have a ton of blood elves because the outfits tend to look the best on them. (Who wants to see a huge cow in some ugly dress that doesn't look right on their large body and doesn't stand out anyway with all of their fur all over the place?) Virtual dress-up with awesome game mechanics. I think this may be a problem with all of the femi-natzis out there going all insane about things having to be equal between men and women.
As for NPCs saying different things to female and male characters...that's awesome, it adds some variety and entertainment. It wasn't creepy, it was funny! On the other hand, I think creepy adds humor in a different way :)
Mar 13th 2012 2:50PM To start, all raids from Cata and raids from the current expansion as they're released. It'd be awesome to eventually add them all though. There are more reasons now than ever to go back through all of the old content (completionists, transmog, achievements, lore, legendaries, tier sets, etc) and it would be a heck of a lot easier if there was a LFG for that. I think it would also promote fun, non-stressful social activities!
Mar 13th 2012 11:11AM YES! Also crossing my fingers for all raids to be added to the raid finder! And plenty of account-wide achievements...
Mar 8th 2012 12:58PM My problem is the "find a guild that I think may fit" part. I'm currently in a guild I created and don't want to jump out of it yet just to search through the in-game guild finder thing (super short, usually outdated descriptions of guilds anyway). I was more wondering about possible popular websites guilds can post ads on that will tell me more details about them or direct me to their guild websites if they have them.
Mar 8th 2012 12:33PM What is the best way, in your opinion, to browse through recruiting guilds (not including the Blizzard forums)? Those forums are so chaotic and messy...
Mar 5th 2012 3:29PM That is the most helpful perfect response ever lol thank you!!
Mar 5th 2012 1:27PM I was wondering if anyone knew of any good, easy to navigate sites that show all of the tier sets, PVP sets, random sets? I came across a roleplaying site a long time ago that suggests items that can be pieced together as outfits (things that look like uniforms, farmer clothes, etc) but have no idea where that was. I have the goal of using my pally to collect every "outfit" or set that is still available and it would make it so much easier if there was a site somewhere that listed even just the names of the sets!
Jul 25th 2011 5:24PM Does anyone know of a good walk-through for how to use/read World of Logs? I'd love to make use of it. I've registered at the site and created my guild but I'm not sure where to go from here!
Jul 15th 2011 11:38AM Subtlety roges are seriously fun to level. You're able to jump to your target and 2-shot it all the way up to level 80 where the mobs start to have more health :) Plus you're always ready for world pvp!
Jul 15th 2011 11:35AM As a girl, just starting WoW I wanted to chop things too! I picked a warrior and it was seriously painful to level (during the vanilla era when horde could not play paladins) and she has been at 61 ever since.
My next attempt was a holy priest. Much easier to level than the warrior and leveling seemed to go faster as everyone was looking for heals in the BC dungeons. However, I wanted to DPS so she now sits at 73.
Next was a mage. I LOVED the mage (and still use her as my main) but got the itch to try tanking so I tried a pally. I leveled prot and it was by far the easiest leveling experience. Accidentally pull an extra mob? You're fine. Accidentally pull 8 extra mobs? You're still fine :) It's even possible to do the reddest of the red quests if you're willing to spend half an hour heal/judgement-ing. Roll a pair of paladins holy and prot? Unstoppable! Not to mention all the instant queues!
I like to ask people what type of role they might like (DPS, heals, tanking) but I'd agree that a paladin is probably the best recommendation since they can get a taste of all three roles. Really depends on the person though, some people pick up the concepts much faster than others.
