BlizzCon 2011: Pet battles introduced in Pandaria {WoW}

Oct 21st 2011 6:33PM Somewhere, right now, all the people in guilds called are whooping it up and high-fiving one another...virtually.

BlizzCon 2011: Pandaren will be playable by both the Horde and Alliance {WoW}

Oct 21st 2011 6:03PM @Kylenne

I’m excited about some things and not excited about others. In other words, business as usual. I’ll reserve judgment until after I install it and play it.

But I don’t think the expansion should be dismissed out of hand any more than I think somebody who has misgivings about it should be dismissed out of hand. Your use of “butthurt” (an expression I despise) and “entitled” is out of line.

As for “entitled”--yeah, for $180/year and the over $800 I’ve spent on this game in total, I expect some future enjoyment out of it. Golly, what a whiny, “entitled” crybaby I am.

Breakfast Topic: Do you blog about WoW? {WoW}

Sep 18th 2011 8:44PM Based on your current armory profile, at 45, you are using 3 mail pieces and 3 int/spellpower pieces, including the shield. The main hand weapon is an agi weapon.

You berated your husband for not casting Hand of Protection on you. So...as the tank, you want your aggro wiped and to not be able to attack physically? It also causes Forebearance, which prevents you from using Lay on Hands for the next 60 secs, in case you get an "Oh shit!" moment, which, if you're asking for Hand of Protection, you probably will. And those are just the things that jump out at me from doing a quick look at your armory profile.

So why am I doing this? Because in the one post I read about your tanking exploits, you appeared quick to belittle, mock and blame your husband (your healer) for his shortcomings and for the issues (read: frequent wipes) you were having in your random group. You expect infinite patience from the random group and from your healer, but seem to have little to none for your husband, who is probably also learning his role, as you are. You write about sighing at him and jumping down his throat when he asks a seemingly innocuous question in party chat. ("What happened?") In a word, you seem to ignore to your own shortcomings in order to point out his to deflect blame and for the amusement of your readers.

Granted, I only read the one post and tanking for random groups IS brave. But this is what happens when you put yourself out there in a blog. You can't always expect the "hee hee you go girl" comments. You open yourself up to feedback, good and bad. I don't know you beyond reading a few posts on your blog and have no idea what your husband's gear, talents, addons, etc., are like. But speaking as an endgame paladin healer/tank, a fellow blogger, and a husband, I think you are all too ready to lay blame on your husband and haven't taken a good, hard, critical look at your character...or your real life behavior.

And to anyone who wants to downrate me: Go ahead. Downrate me into oblivion. But do yourself a favor and read the blog first. You may have an "Oh..." moment.

Breakfast Topic: Is a guild leader's age just a number? {WoW}

Sep 5th 2011 12:37PM I've had four guild leaders. I've BEEN a guild leader. My current guild leader is, by far, the best guild leader I've ever had (including me!). She had the unenviable task of forming a new guild from the ashes of a guild where some of the raiders decided to break off and form a raiding guild, blah blah. Well, guess what? That raiding guild isn't around anymore, but two years later, we're 200+ members, level 23 and casually raiding. Most of the members are in their 30's and 40's and--here it comes--Katy became our guild leader at around 17, I think.

She's calm, mature, fair, funny, intelligent and loved by everyone in the guild. We couldn't do it without her and wouldn't want to. We may not be the most progressed, but drama is at the absolute minimum, the guild bank is healthy, and most importantly, we just have a hell of a lot of fun.

So for what you do for us on a daily, weekly and yearly basis, Katy, we who are about to WoW thank you and salute you.

About the Bloggers: Michael Gray {WoW}

Aug 31st 2011 9:51AM As an animal lover, I thought your photo was one of the more touching photos I have seen. When a relationship is good between animal and caregiver, it's just obvious.

Blizzard remains optimistic about WoW subscriber numbers {WoW}

Aug 31st 2011 1:22AM Since that announcement, Blizzard managers announced in early August that WoW had lost another 300,000 subscriptions the previous quarter. As a player and a shareholder, yes, that is news that concerns me.

If you want to talk numbers, then give the whole picture. Your omission of the latest subscription drops means you are either unaware or purposely misleading. Neither option is good.

The Light and How to Swing It: Healing is a zero-sum game {WoW}

Aug 29th 2011 10:43AM I can't thank you enough for this article. It reminded me why I feel the way I do about Mr. Christian's holy paladin writing.

From now on, I'll stick to Plus Heal and Elitist Jerks.

WoW Moviewatch: Hard Like Heroic {WoW}

Aug 18th 2011 11:21PM Not sure why this is downgraded since Dreyja was just expressing an opinion, and a valid one, at that.

Nyhm's poseur attitude wore very thin, very quickly. And the voicework was never there.

WoW Moviewatch: Hard Like Heroic {WoW}

Aug 18th 2011 6:22PM ^ this. A thousand times, this.

All hail Wowcrendor, who led us away from Belf rap and showed a better way to make Wow-related videos.

This revisit of Nyhm wasn't a pleasant dip into nostalgia. This was like being shown your elementary school photos, complete with little 'fro, big plastic glasses, butterfly-collar and bellbottom jeans.

Try harder, WoW Insider.
